Not that Trafford is even close to JP's level at this stage, but his selection policy for England makes no sense to me.

Both of these things can unfortunately be true .

I think Trafford is miles away from Pickford but they’ll be pushing him hard to be England’s keeper . Laughable but where we are

Also, it's based on him being 1st choice over Ederson, which I don't think is a certainty at all. He's not been his best, but neither have many in the squad.

Pickford's position will be fine.

Pickford is far better than Trafford currently but it's clear that Trafford is in line to be England no. 1 sooner rather than later. He was a top performer for Burnley in the Championship and England U21s when they won the Euros the first time around. Looked poor in his first PL season which means he's not quite there yet in terms of overtaking Pickford but if he ends up starting for City and does okay, I wouldn't be surprised if he's knocking on the door to take over for the next Euros. World Cup I would expect Pickford to still be no. 1 because I think Ederson will probably stay and Trafford will be eased in.

Based on Tuchel's comments it would seem more likely, but it's on him if he chooses the worse goalie. Pickford has survived and thrived for England under bigger challenges.
They had Ramsdale at Arsenal and calls to replace pickford were loud, never happened. Neither with Pope
Trafford stillhas to replace Ederson and Ortega which is no guarantee either

Surely the goalkeepers who have the most to do for their club teams & do well should get picked?

Jordan has been amazing for us & has & will continue to be picked on merit.

JP has been the top scoring goalie in FPL the last two seasons. I know that doesn't mean much to many but plenty of English non-toffees rate him much higher than previously.
Think his England spot is as secure as its ever been

I wouldn't worry if I was Jordan. Tuchel will get sacked after this tournament so the next manager will stick him back in.

Pickford has already demonstrated that he can survive a witch-hunt after the media frenzy for "Virgil". Then there was him bouncing back after the Courtois comment + aftermath.

That said, we can't shy away from the fact that Trafford to City presents a genuine threat to his England place now. He'll know it himself deep down. I know some might say, "who cares about England?", but it's important to remember how important his number 1 spot for England is on a sporting/professional level.

I'm just hoping he goes out there again next season and keeps delivering.

He only needs to hold his England place for 12 more months…
