Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I've put £10 on them to be relegated at 7/2 (4th favourite), because I think it's a strong possibility. Kelleher is a good signing for them.

However, to lose Nørgaard, Mbeumo and Flekken, with Wissa potentially going too, is a big loss for them on top of a new and inexperienced manager.
I still expect them to recruit and replace very well. They always have good players lined up. Personally don't see them going down.

Given the fact they haven’t actually invested more money as it stands and we have a threadbare squad in July (what a ridiculous statement to have to make) there hasn’t been any positives this summer from them.
I am concerned with the lack of incomings so far but for the sake of balance they have extended Branthwaite’s contract and signed a few players who were required too, sounds like Pickford will be extending soon which is a big plus. Just need to get cracking with more signings now!

The ‘committee’ shouldn’t really impact. All of the members are experienced with English football and will have all of the available data on players. The manager presumably gets a list of ‘possibles’ to approve and the committee goes after them.
Sadly we are competing with 19 other clubs in England plus every club in a European tournament, from the big nations. Then throw in Saudi, Brazil, etc.
There is a small pond of players capable of playing top c10 in the PL. the competition is huge to attract them though. We could buy more McGeadys, Niasses, Alcarazs but hopefully we are in a position now where we are trying to add better players. If you have 100m to spend then you also have to balance priorities. If a left back is available who you really want for 25m but that means you have to go for a 5th-10th choice winger as your budget moves, is that the right strategy? It’s tough to balance.
There are well paid individuals making these decisions and you’d hope they get most right.
It is a tough balance, but when you need as many players as we do, then you need to be pragmatic.

Yes you want to try and get your number 1 or 2 target, but there comes a point where you have to move on and make sure that you still get someone who brings overall improvement to the group. You can't wait to late in the window, then try to pivot, and find there are no decent players left. That's what I am concerned is going to happen now that we are a week away from August. You can't just wait on your number 1 target. You probably need plan A, B , C, D , E etc when you are in our position.

I am extremely surprised at the lack of urgency that is being shown from the club. And the stories of them being internal pleased with the summer so far make no sense. How can anyone look at the current state of the squad and feel pleased. Maybe these games in America will fully highlights the weaknesses of the squad depth and will get us into action.

Yes think we’re all frustrated at the minute, but apparently we have our targets and aren’t panicking and going off in different directions and then signing players. That dont fit in and cost us more than should and are on a big wage,
Because our owner got in bed with agents.

Back to the point thought, they have done this so it helps us moving forward. And With PSR
But some will/have make a negative out of it.

It’s unreal. They need to look at what Chelsea have done and get inventive.

Shifting the ladies team to play at Goodison, investing heavily in bringing in talent in order to increase on pitch performance and maybe win something. Setting a seperate entity up in order to facilitate a same to ourselves essentially of the women's team.

Oh they are clearly trying to maximise the value of the women's team in order to pull a future PSR stunt like Chelsea at the time they can claim the highest amount from the sale

I totally agree, I actually think this tour is gonna put them into full blown panic mode and a flurry of activity will follow. There’s going to be some horrendous scorelines considering we’ll be ending all our games with mostly U18s/U23s.
