Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Newcastle demonstrate this better than anyone. They have owners who have more spending power than all of the other Premier League owners combined. But with PSR they can’t spend it. They could buy any player and offer any amount of wages but the rules do not allow it. This is how much the league is set up to prevent another Man City from upsetting the status quo.
Can't Newcastle just buy who they want, smash the league, and get enough points to take a points deduction and pay off any fine? They are then in a position to challenge with only a couple of additions each season after that?

It’s not Dave that ruins the threads tbf, it’s all the people that STILL reply to him, even though they are well aware he’s just a WUM. They stop then he stops.

100%. Put him on ignore and do just that.
In his case Ignoring is the key to a happier life and stops the forum being unreadable . ultimately though if he didn’t obviously wind up and derail threads then people wouldn’t reply . Feels like a free pass is undeserved here .

Brentford might well have a tough season ahead

I am still concerned we are so far behind on our recruitment this summer because there have been far too many changes behind the scenes in our recruitment team. We need more players than any other team in the league so have to show more urgency and be more proactive. It's not a time for a gradual settling in period, even if that would be preferable when you have a lot of new staff.

Without Left back and Right winger in, this sentiment will be growing realisation. We have rather big and expensive transfer committee at Everton now, and if they can't see obvious gaping weaknesses in posistions let alone ability I'd be more worried that we just have another type of clown at the helm.
"Exceptional operators".

Imagine making that claim before they'd even started their jobs.

That's enough to have alarm bells ringing.

No doubt their case would be dealt with in a matter of days and they would be catapulted down through the leagues to set an example. Man City meanwhile...

It makes it incredibly hard to try and compete with them, which was obviously their intention. But they still needed the majority of clubs to support the change and they did.

A load of owners in the middle of the PL who didn’t have the money to challenge but were terrified of going down. The regulations cements their place in the PL from most teams coming up from the championship so they’ll all be happy to keep voting for it. It was an absolute genius piece of legislation whoever thought of it, all the clubs voluntarily voting to ensure they can never win anything ever again.

Kenwright chased away? He underwhelmingly owned or was still significantly involved in club operations for like 30 years 😂
Chased out after headlock gate with the rest of them.

When fans choose to act they act decisively. The power is there. That was the overarching point.
