We did fine last season with O'Brien at right back, its not ideal but it's not going to be a catastrophe. Next season will be a consolidation season anyway so it's better being patient with getting the right player in than make the same mistakes of the past and bloating our squad with overpaid rubbish that can't be sold on and bleed the clubs finances until their contracts run out

We need specialist FBs: players that get up to support the attack and can swing some good deliveries in. O'Brien is solid but cant do that. Neither can Mykolenko.

We need pace all over this team as much as we can get in.

Those seasons were absolute dogs*e even if we didn't get relegated. I was very much upset it I guess barely surviving is good enough for you.

Tbh, my alarm is that there was a lot of talk about the problem RB berth being sorted early on. Now it's gone quite and the club are seemingly prepared to go with O'Brien with the now unreliable Coleman and the horrendous Patterson as his deputies.

We need both FB positions sorted with top class starters. If we'd have sorted those two positions out and a proven goal scorer I'd have been happy with three in right now.

What if the month of preparation are for exactly what is happening. Maybe they have firm targets but cannot get them until the clubs have replaced them, or agree to sell. Maybe they won’t waste money on third, fourth choices. I fully expect movement once they are back from America.

Definitely not in trouble, the current squad wouldn’t be anywhere near relegation, but we do have a chance to push on after last years finish. How ironic after Bill never backing Moyes, for the new owners to do the same.

Well yeah havent really had any other strong links apart from him and doak. Wouldnt say any have heads buried in sand, is just a name can talk about we all kno what players and quality we need.

I like the bayern kid that was linked at lb looks the sort of deal we should be trying to do. Agree need something at rb aswell unless moyes wants to use patterson even tho i dont rate the lad

I'm not disagreeing with you Davek but its better waiting for the right player rather than just buying anyone. I'm happy Tete chose to stay at Fulham and Walker-Peters went to West Ham as they would of been stop gap signings and neither are exceptional either. The guy from Bayern is more of an exciting link but the competition for his signature will mean if its a genuine interest we have then it'll take longer to get him as he mulls over his next career move
