Issac absent from pre season tour and wants out.

On the one hand I find this hilarious, The Richest Club In the World ™️ can’t keep hold of their best players, and the self important horse punchers are getting a reality check on their true status in the pecking order.

Then I’m horrified at what they might do with the money they’ll be making from the sale.

Then the scenario reminds me just how bent the football world is in ensuring no one can challenge the status quo other than in exceptional circumstances (Leicester)

I'm looking at the bigger picture with this one and it's not looking good for the rest of us.

Back to back CL seasons for them isn't it? Money burning a hole in their back pocket yet PSR means they can't challenge. Something similar happening at Villa by the looks of it. Same will happen to us if we are ever in that position again.

PSR era in full swing and only a handful of clubs can take part.

Should a club be able to use the money of the Saudi state without restriction?

If it wasn't for PSR these would be spending £500m a summer. Is that more better for the game than PSR?

They can have all the money in the world but they’ll struggle to keep elite players living up there. For the time being anyways.

Dunno who has 120 odd mill to drop on Issac mind you. He’ll still be there next season

They are an extreme case definitely. I don't know where you would draw the line. City and Chelsea have both been able to pump in hundreds of million before PSR and can now reap the rewards. RS and United generate massive revenue helped by their success from decades ago and both have spent heavily even during down periods.

Villa are maybe a better example currently but if "the richest club in the world" is struggling with breaking the glass ceiling then it doesn't leave much chance for the rest.

The game continues to move towards it being a handful of clubs with the rest of us just there to make up the numbers.
