Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I know that neither party can now go back, but 100k per week £5 million a year on a 4 year deal plus signing fee is what £23m?? Who could we sign as good as him (when fit and played properly) for £23m all in? We’ve just paid £27m for a completely unproven striker and his backup will be Beto. Beto is bang average at best and if Barry can’t secure a starting place within 3 months we will be forced to assume he’s even worse.
Probably not many, and probably most of them also in the questionable (when fit and played properly) group.

I think DCL's problem is his wage demands. Even on a free if he is looking at 100k, no club is paying him that with his injury record.

It's not a revelation to say that the £££ these players earn by time they are 21 or younger, the desire just isn't there to play being the priority when they get to 27/28 as much if they are released by their clubs at that age.

Doucoure I really thought he would have been snapped up. He definitely didn't want to leave us you feel but again wasn't prepared to accept a reduced contract either.

I think with the number of players still to move, as much as I despise TDD I think it is likely ro be the busiest one yet including for us at this rate.
Haha, and the rest mate, they were taking the mick out of him on the radio the other day, by all accounts there is plenty of interest in him but he wants £150k per week and clubs are basically just refusing to pay it and he won't drop his demands. It sounds like he could have had a move by now otherwise.

I do not blame clubs at all. Reinforces the point that if he doesn't budge he isn't playing for anybody anytime soon. The longer he leaves it, even with reduced demands there'd be fewer takers without match fitness and just like that he could go at least half a season without a club.

Fine line for players just as much as looking at us and how we may be going about our own business.
