Well my entire point was that crap players have been signed early and good ones have been signed late. That was the basis for the 2 lists.

The overriding point of the delusional posts in here is that we will inevitably bring in better players later in the window isn’t it? When actual history proves that it just doesn’t work like that, and you are no more likely to end up with better quality just by waiting until the last few weeks of the window.

No more likely, and indeed no less likely. The timing has no direct correlation to quality. I have faith we'll get what we need by the end of the window. Not thrilled that it hasn't been spread more evenly across the window but I guess that's more likely when you drag your feet over appointing the recruitment team.

If the team does wonders over the coming years then we'll all forgive them the faux pas, I'm sure.

People in here are acting like it’s a given that we will secure our top targets later in the window. I’ve observed this exact circular debate go round every window for as long as I can remember and we seem to come out of every one weaker than we went into it. I need to see actual evidence that the people in charge know what they’re doing, the time for blind faith has been and gone for me.
