It’s usually the players we sign at the end of the window in a blind panic that end up vilified because they’re crap btw.

From recent transfer windows we've had Gana, Garner, Mangala and Alcaraz, Broja.

That's not a bad bunch.

Barry was getting updates weeks before he signed.

Kubo seems the most at this moment also that bayern kid at lb could be an option the club is looking at. Then no idea on the luiz stuff

Thought he said in an interview that he wasnt offered a new deal at Everton but had no intention of retiring. For the life of me I cant remember where, think it was some Sky Sports program

I think the nervousness comes from not wanting to be dry bummed by fellow PL teams in USA due to lack of playing squad. As long as we have what we need / almost need by the first competitive game in a few weeks it'll be sound.
I don't know about anyone else but growing up I genuinely don't remember teams signing many or any players in the summer whilst you were still in school, all seemed to be when you were on your 6 weeks off. But that could've been because the transfer window never shut. I'm just gonna wait here for everyone to absolutely prove me wrong and provide a raft of players signing in June / July during the 90's...

Is it possible for our club representatives to masquerade as being part of a club that has a higher standing, then dupe the player into signing for everton under false pretenses and then laugh maniacally after announcing the evil scheme that was conducted or is that illegal?

It is a bit strange really, because even if the club have clamped down on their end, most leaks tend to come from the selling club's side or the player's agent.

Not to mention the fact that we're not even getting the usual stacks of completely made up rumours.

Everton are plotting a £45 million double swoop for Newcastle pair Jacob Murphy and Joe Willock.

Is it, though? Or is that just something to say to justify the daily cryarsing about not having signed enough players yet? A quick Google tells me the following were signed on, or before 23rd July in their respective Summer windows:

I have been sure to stick to your "only the last 10 years counts" rule, plus I CBA anymore.

We did sign 3 by 18th July in 1988 and then TC on 25th July. Those were the days of transfer tribunals as well though. We wanted to pay 450k for McDonald, the barcodes wanted 850k and we settled on 525k . So we were doing under the selling clubs price deals even back then

It’s hard to know whether there are leaks etc until stuff happens. There have been an absolute shedload of links, and some of them have been very persistent but for some reason it feels a bit like we could sign someone like mcatee after being heavily linked for months on end and people would say ‘wow we heard nothing about that at all nothing gets leaked anymore’.

An absolute knock-out blow. Touche. They all obviously hit the ground running too as they all had full preseasons to get fit and learn the tactics.

We better have some showstopping signings lined up for August otherwise the counter punch is gonna be biblical.
