Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

But given that signing a player is a 4/5 year financial commitment and we don't have unlimited money to make mistakes prioritising getting the right players in (and being patient to do so if necessary) is surely preferable to getting the wrong players in early. Everyone would want players signed before the squad report back for preseason. But the transfer market doesn't work that way.
Being thorough would disrupt the grievance industrial complex established in this thread , where there's outrage to sign players immediately then when those players don't fit the lofty expectations of certain fans they become regularly vilified and the cycle continues

I mean Brentford have been completely decimated and look to be in trouble. Newcastle & Forest looking pretty light considering they have Europe this season and the likes of Brighton, Palace & Wolves havent exactly lit the transfer window up yet either..

We aren't the only ones who've been 'slow' in this window so far.
The only clubs spending heavily are part of the scab 6 along with Sunderland as they just got promoted and need to engage in drastic recruitment as their squad is significantly lacking

It’s usually the players we sign at the end of the window in a blind panic that end up vilified because they’re crap btw.

I think there's a middle ground between signing for the sake of signing and panic buying at the last minute so hopefully we can actually find it this window. Yes crappy players get signed but we also have a tendency to consider every player here crap , Ive seen people make a go at ndiaye
