Tbh id question why Tim Cahill would be in an interview for an Everton manager tbf.Three-quarters of the way through the podcast now after even more tedious hours flying, and despite enjoying listening to it I still think it's all about self-gratification and trying to maintain this so-called cult status he yearns. Maybe he's trying too hard to justify being in and around the Club.
There's barely a word of positivity about the Club or it's players, but instead a plethora of 'I did this', 'I did that' sound-bites. The bit I found most poignant was his horror at having Tim Cahill sat in on his interview for the managers job when Frank was appointed. He seemed to think it was outrageous - I'd say it was a master-stroke having a real recent icon expressing an opinion.
Made me smirk when he trumpeted his own coaching abilities by lauding the fact that he brought through such 'brilliant' youngsters as Matt Pennington, Jon-Joe Kenny, Callum Connelly, Tom Davies and DCL. Talk about misguided.
Anyhow, I'll finish the podcast and ultimately good luck to the fella for trying to squeeze a few more quid out of his football career - everyone needs to make a living. I suppose he was an easily-likeable bloke when we most needed a talisman, and to be fair he gave a big section of Toffees something to believe in and get behind so far that he gets a pat on the back.
The likes of the class of 85, Super Kevin Campbell and Tim Cahill would be much, much higher up the likeability league table for me.
Considering the football knowledge of the other attendee's who were apparently Moshiri, Kenwright, Barrett-Baxendale, Ingles, Brands and Graeme Sharp I'd suggest that other than Sharp they didn't have a clue between them and that Cahill with his deep understanding of the Club and of football in general was best positioned to offer a sensible opinion.Tbh id question why Tim Cahill would be in an interview for an Everton manager tbf.
What qualifies his position to judge anyone’s abilities to manage a Prem Team, certainly not his Oceania based sport washing titular roles for the Middle East.
Not defending Ferguson particularly, but imagine if he was there for Moyes or Ancelotti's interviews, I’d imagine they would walk out, at the very least they would think it was odd.
Imagine going into an interview and somebody who had a junior position in the company 12 years ago was sat there apparently leading the interaction whilst the chairman & ceo twiddled their thumbs .Tbh id question why Tim Cahill would be in an interview for an Everton manager tbf.

He was working in capacity as an agent stooge, for his own self interests with that Kia joorblachops.Considering the football knowledge of the other attendee's who were apparently Moshiri, Kenwright, Barrett-Baxendale, Ingles, Brands and Graeme Sharp I'd suggest that other than Sharp they didn't have a clue between them and that Cahill with his deep understanding of the Club and of football in general was best positioned to offer a sensible opinion.
Having undertaken a degree in the business side of the game. Not exactly difficult to grasp is it ? Fair play to him i say.Imagine going into an interview and somebody who had a junior position in the company 12 years ago was sat there apparently leading the interaction whilst the chairman & ceo sat there .
If Cahill ends up with a position within the club then fair enough but seems odd that he had rocked up at an interview .
That group of geniuses along with Everton legend and football brain Tim Cahill ended up deciding Lampard was the best choice.Imagine going into an interview and somebody who had a junior position in the company 12 years ago was sat there apparently leading the interaction whilst the chairman & ceo sat there .

No im not slagging Cahill but you’d be happy in that position because that person has a degree ?Having undertaken a degree in the business side of the game. Not exactly difficult to grasp is it ? Fair play to him i say.
Going largely off second hand info, but I do believe he’s a bit of a snake. No im not slagging Cahill but you’d be happy in that position because that person has a degree ?
Like I say give Cahill a job then fair enough but he’s not an employee of the organisation. I don’t know if he’s ever appointed a manager before or what his qualifications are to assess one . Apart from being a former player and that degree obviously.
Suspect he’s reassessing things , seems like he’s unlikely to get another coaching job so needs must I suppose .Books enjoyable enough but he's very self centred.
For someone who likes to stay out of the media, he's certainly doing the circuit.
Even that’s a stretch I’d say.No im not slagging Cahill but you’d be happy in that position because that person has a degree ?

Context required but its not just "jobs for the boys". I think he's etching out a career in that side of the gameand I'm just saying he's maybe more credible than some we've employed previously. No im not slagging Cahill but you’d be happy in that position because that person has a degree ?

Yet that’s fine but we didn’t employ him did we , that’s sort of my and I suspect Duncan’s point .Context required but its not just "jobs for the boys". I think he's etching out a career in that side of the gameand I'm just saying he's maybe more credible than some we've employed previously.
