Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

i feel like mcneil gets unfairly bashed on here at times

when he came off the bench and provided that sublime assist for doucoure's last minute winner against forest and then his goal against ipswich

some of his best moments in an everton shirt since coming back from his injury
McNeil is a good player, he just isn't who we should be holding hopes for at RW. Should be a squad player utilised at LW and CAM.

Personally speaking, I'd just like to see it more consistently. I've got nothing against McNeil, especially as a squad player, but his form is definitely sporadic.

I guess he wouldn't be with us if he played like Brighton away routinely, though.

Sometimes perhaps easy to forget that after 7 full seasons in the Prem, 3 at Everton - he's still 25. Best days still should be ahead.

McNeil is not a regular starter in a European team. He lacks pace and he lacks an ability to lose a man because they know he sticks to his left foot like his right has been cut off at the knee.

Agreed mate.
Also has a goal or two in him , and probably our best set piece taker (although that is a pretty low bar)

Imagine this place back in 04.

Out Rooney for 27 mill, Radzinski 2 mill.

30 mill burning a hole in our pockets and we spent:

1.5 mill on a lad from Milwall in his mid 20s and Marcus Bent 26 from Ipswich for 500k. Absolutely zero pedigree between them.

Good times.
Yeah? Everyone thought we were favourites to go down. Remember how the first home match went?

Hey, maybe we should've sold Branthwaite and bought someone for 2 million to replace him?
