Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Branthwaite, Alcaraz, Barry, Travers, Keane (ahem), Coleman, Gueye.

Doesn't increase the squad much but it's something.

McNeil, Tim, Armstrong, Patterson, Chermiti available.

Pickford signs soon (I hope), Tarks recovers (not sure when).

We need right wing sorted at least - to get back to roughly where we were last season.

Then a squad for injuries.

Hoping we've given deadlines to the Mcatee and Luiz types and have plan Bs ready to go if/when they say no, but that would be so un-Everton/Moyes there's no real point entertaining that thought

Plus if that were the case, it doesn't explain the lack of full backs where we don't need to be dropping 20m+ on

I hate to dampen a good fume, but have we considered that Everton are maybe not the complete embarrassing failure that we think they are? Isn't it possible that for clubs of our level, it's generally harder to make early moves in the market?

We have zero idea who we've spoken to and what they've said in return, despite what the Bobble puts out. Let's take Kubo, who seems to be this summer's poster boy for grown men losing their minds over football transfers. Sociedad need to replace him, and so would the team who they buy their replacement from and so on. Every transfer is part of a chain, and it's a slow and complicated process for everyone in the lower middle like us – in reality, we're no more of a draw than Fulham in 2025.

I'd expect that it's unlikely we'll see many major incomings until the last couple of weeks of the window. Would be great to be wrong like, but I sense there's a lot of cans getting kicked down the road out there.

You cannot expect grown men, tirelessly tapping phones, from the comfort of their mattress sodden beds, to even begin to understand sense or sensibility.

Shame on you for your deep dive into reason.

We have 16 senior players going into August, so no I wouldn’t consider that.

Imagine the abuse you’d have got for suggesting Tyler Onyango was going to be jetting out and probably getting a lot of minutes on this tour.

This window has been a disgrace. Get your heads out of the sand.

I can confirm what's actually happened Mike. Onyango was about to sign for League 2 Stockport to be their back up centre half, but Moyes pulled the plug on the deal as he wanted one more look at him. Hes impressed that much that Moyes is taking him on the US tour and he's been promised minutes to stake a claim for a first team squad spot

And if you believe that I've got magic beans to sell!!

If our targets are waiting for other options, then they shouldn't really be targets should they. If its the recruitment team struggling to get players over the line, then they need replacing with people who can do their job. If its Moyes disagreeing with the recruitment team on potential targets, then thats not a good sign.

No excuses for anyone, if we don't bring players in, in the next few days, then they'll be lucky to get minutes against Roma for our last pre season games which is the game you usually select your starting 11 or as close to it for the seasons opener.

All the main signings should have been done before this trip and the frees and loans done in the last week before the season starts and the final days before the window closes

To have tied down just 3 players with such a threadbare squad is nothing short of embarrassing at this point

The fact that Onyango will be getting probable minutes right in the middle of pre season tells us all thats its been a complete cluster duck of a situation.
