Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I'm guessing we're not quite the pull we all thought we were. Players are probably waiting for Chelsea to come sniffing first.
Can I ask, How in the hell are they just allowed to buy who they want, Psr not an issue for them ??
If I was a player I would want to play, game time should be the most important reason to change clubs surely, Yet it appears the modern player is happy just to sit on a bench (if chosen) while still earning a fortune.

They sold there women's team for about 200m plus they earned over 100m for that joke world cup tournament mate.

A lot of lads do yup, noticeable though that the couple of younger lads we've been linked too both are at massive clubs but want to leave for game time though - that's the mentality we need to target

Also the thing about is being quite the pull.

Depends what you want to be attractive for, under moshiri we became known as a good move for players concerned about the fattest contract they can get with minimal expectation or pressure - the proverbial overpayer for crap.

The team right now is having to hard reset that image in negotiations - reputation is they are hard negotiators actually.

I'm happy we haven't panicked early and overpaid to get players in quick. It looks impressive until ... Well look at the mess we got in doing so, look at the mess United are in, we needed smart sensible and focused negotiations based upon a long term sustainable model.

Have we got that, well, the next 5-6 weeks will show us

Chelsea have more room under PSR than any other club in the league after the sale of the hotels and the sale of the women’s team (the figure for the latter hasn’t been agreed yet).

Nobody should fail PSR now following their lead. Always something you can sell to a related company. Stadium, women’s team, etc.

Absolutely!!! I just hope that the 'transfer team' has got this mentality now. We are gunna be embarrassed in the US otherwise.

Those are very good points. I think we have about 2 weeks to do some more business and even a couple in by then will make things look a lot better. After that it gets pushed to the deadline day lottery more or less and whatever control we had, we lose.

It isn't a huge ask of them and you'd expect that as a minimum. Your point on resetting the perception of the club as tough negotiators is well made. That's absolutely necessary.

I guess / hope they will have made that point now if not very soon, and they can make progress with at least some deals, and/or progress to others on terms that are sustainable.

No, PSR is not an issue for Chelsea, they have lots of costs, but their revenue is anywhere between £400m and £600m a season, depending on Champions league as and domestic success. They just got £85m for winning the world club cup

Also they have been quite good at flogging players from their youth team. They are always 100% profit
