New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Certainly sounds like a normal day at Everton.

Yeah, it didn't feel anything like an official opening... so maybe it isn't and they will wait till a weekend to do this?

But I agree, even just a little balloon for the kids or something!

As mentioned, the only giveaway was for one kid who ran past everyone to be the first in the store and they got an away top.

Even as I said the grabber in there was only if you bought an away top and not every purchase!

There was a rather abrupt social media person in there who basically ushered us away from the machine because of this reason!

Seems like a bit of a farce to be honest. That's quite a momentous occasion and they've literally half-arsed it! A part of the stadium is now officially open to the public and there was absolutely no fanfare and basically zero advance notice that it's set to open.

The only thing I can assume is that they didn't want a load of fans down there, possibly because the rest of the site isn't ready yet.

Still, doesn't affect me in the slightest so I'm not really bothered, just some thoughts after watching a few videos.

Did make me laugh as we were waiting and we saw all the stewards come out. Felt like they were concerned fans were going to jump the barriers to get round the stadium!

I hear the footballs you can see on display in the shop are the ‘Pro’ versions. They’re spherical, and can be filled with air - features intended to make the fan experience as close to the players’ own as possible. Retail price is £500.

Always mindful to give Evertonians a choice of balls, though, the fan replica balls (not displayed) are cuboid, filled with custard and lacking any means to drain it out. These retail for £14.99.
Pretty sure that's what Jack Harrison was training with
