Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Unlwss you buy players that are either seeing the club as the first step to the bigger contract elsewhere OR are hungry to play. I know we ain't got many but I currently dont see any player at our club wed struggle badly to move on due to wages - and that's a relief.

I think Patterson is probably the only one.

But this is why shorter initial contracts make sense. It's actually something that's quite smart we are doing.

Like you look at United and it's a mess, and it can't be helping the dressing room either.

Opinions and that. But the potential productivity upgrade from JWP is hard to argue with. Sometimes you have to go with someone who will be a horses for courses signing.

Martin O’Neill’s Celtic were an absolute nightmare for anyone due to their sheer physicality. That’s what we should be pursuing - making the most of our advantages.

We arent that physical though we have two tall centre back and a tall lanky striker. We are hardly mean machine.

Myko and none of the 5 midfielders are any threat or physical presence.

In modern PL, Tarkowski, O’Brien and Branthwaite are monsters. Defenders are very weak to the high ball at the moment.

If we did add someone in the Fellaini/Soucek mould we’d be scoring loads of corners and indirect free kicks.

Patterson was before thelwell I think but he's not on great wages and we could shift him if we tried.

Whilst I don’t disagree with calling United a mess, I’m a bit reticent when you consider our current best team includes Garner, Mkyolenko and an out of position centreback. The less said about the bench the better.

Hopefully this will be rectified over the next month.

Pure concentrated urine.

Steady showers all day, with the promise of heavier storms later when the big wind up merchant's enter the arena.

Thank you brothers. And to all, let’s be strong and keep the faith. It’s not easy being an Evertonian, but let’s hope for better times. It’s not so long ago 777 almost took us to the cleaners. Onwards and upwards 💙

Worry is would the step up be too big .... Cos in his role you are dealing with a completely different level of player against you
Of course. But if you want to avoid that concern then you're locking yourself I to waiting til they've proven it at another club and are worth 60m.

Players like him who will be at minimum be 'okay' but have a huge potential upside are who we should be looking at, because we can afford that risk - if a player is only okay then we haven't got backwards compared to say if an Arsenal took that risk. Like if we replace Garner with Hackney and he turns out to be league average, then we have at worst stood still. But if he replicates his form then we're the ones with the 60m midfielder.

If they're that good mate you do t have to sacrifice a position by bringing in a guy who can only do one thing - you bring in a good player with a decent delivery. And he's dreadful at everything besides set pieces.
He’s a solid midfielder. When played higher up he’s decent at leading a press and getting in the box to score goals.

Beto and Barry are massive too.

We were a major threat from set pieces last season and if Doucoure is replaced this season, we will probably be more so.

We just need to see if we can get a decent dead ball coach and someone decent to kick the ball for him to coach.
