Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

With villa being in Europe I dont see them being able to cope with adding even a third of his wages mate.

I also think Forrest are gonna be in trouble in terms of those regulations - they had e a huge squad and even though they aren't paying huge wages it all adds up.

Villa have already been fined and Forest and Newcastle will fail the UEFA 85% ratio test this year based on 24/25 squad costs so they cannot manipulate those figures to be within the limit now.

Personally i think go get hackney and fellows now. Then bring in the main cm and RW as and when and as they like.

Im happy to wait till the window closes before i pass my judgement on howbthe club did.

But i do feel like there are easy wins we could be doing with regards to bringing in squad options and i 100% think we need more then 1 cm in this summer.
Sorry I’m confused you want us to buy a CM and RW whilst we wait for our primary targets to make a decision and then sign another CM and RW?? Sorry if I’ve missed your point but is that what you’re saying?

Never mid waiting for Luiz to make up his mind just go and buy Hackney from Middlesbrough, a very good footballer a wonderful passer of the ball. scores goals and would be a lot cheaper, leaving more money to buy other players.

I think the idea is to get Luiz on loan initially and sign him permanently next summer - which might actually leave more money to buy players this window

I’m not sure we’ve got the money to get the both of those along with ‘main’ cm and rw. I think we’ll be looking at loans for anyone not going into the starting 11

Yeah villa selling their women's team shows just his much of a psr mess they actually were in. It's a one off hit though, which is why they're likely looking at selling Ramsay as well - missing the CL was huge for them as it will be now for any club that spends to break in then spends again to stay in and fails

We spent over £100m in a window once and spent it all on rubbish.

Had every opportunity to get back up there but we blew it.

Arsenal and Liverpool deserve to spend those amounts because they've built themselves into massive clubs and been successful.

We haven't. We've been a joke for the whole of the premier league era.
Spending over 100 million once isn't having every opportunity to get back up there. It's literally one opportunity.

We did blow that opportunity though.

TFG could sanction a 150-200m spend pretty easily as long as that came without a ridiculous spiralling of wages too.

It's why I'm doubtful of Grealish, Gallagher and to a degree Luiz as all three would be on 100k plus I'm guessing minimum of they arrived.

Can likely get the likes of Kubo, Mcatee, Elliot, Doake etc on around 40-60k tops. On a loan I maybe can see us adding a big wage earner but not on a permanent deal currently

Back when I managed Everton I used to just add myself as Blackburns manager and buy Andy hinchcliff for 30 million. Then I'd fine Sutton and shearer to make them unhappy then buy them for a couple million each. Why do this Everton make it look so difficult I don't know?. It's easy.
That wouldn’t be out of place in the Viz’s ‘top tips’ page 😄

Kubo would be earning in excess of £100k a week if he came. He's a big name player in La Liga.

I honestly believe waiting for Luiz is a big mistake, we could wait for a time and then he could go elsewhere, wasting even more time and to be honest I believe he does not want to come here anyway or he would be here by now.
