Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

We spent over £100m in a window once and spent it all on rubbish.

Had every opportunity to get back up there but we blew it.

Arsenal and Liverpool deserve to spend those amounts because they've built themselves into massive clubs and been successful.

We haven't. We've been a joke for the whole of the premier league era.

If you’re talking about 17/18, the mega splurge under Koeman. According to transfer market we spent 158.2 million euros on Siggurdson Pickford Keane Klaasen Onyekeru Vlasic Sandro.

We sold 125.6 mill euros for Lukaku, Barkley, Deulofeu, Cleverley, Lennon, Barry

That’s 32.6 mill euros net spend, about 28 mill pounds. Our biggest window ever.

You can rightly say we spent some of the money on rubbish players but the difference is that the sky six can spend money on rubbish players and they get to spin the wheel every single window.

We spun the wheel 3 times in 30 years, and have had to pay for that with two points deductions, losing Ancelotti, selling all our best players and falling down the league to the bottom half club we are now. The top clubs make a mistake and they just drop a quarter of a billion the season after. That’s the difference.

Look at PL net spend over the last 30 years and that will give you the reason why Liverpool and Arsenal are where they are rather than this myth that Everton have wasted loads of money.

Bobb is massively rated at City still , pre injury during last pre season he was featuring a lot and looking brilliant and was the one they expected to integrate into the side. It's arguable if Mcatee would have been allowed to have moved on last season if Bobb hadn't got that bad injury.

Think you'd play them in the same positions they play for the under 21s actually

I thought Bobb was going to be made available before he got the bad injury.

With McAtee & the RS i dont think you can use one central and the other wide...no pace.

Neither Mcatee or Elliot are slow players, think there's this obsession with must have blinding pace in the squad. It's not needed as long as you have decent pace throughout and nobody whose super slow like a McNeil, young, Keane etc.

On the break with Alcaraz, Ndiaye and Beto last season we sure as hell had pace enough to break well. We just often got let down by being slow as hell on the right or having Doucoure mess it up with his best Kasabian impression.

Everton: I hope this message finds you well. How’re you?
Real: I’m fine, thank you. what’s up bro?
Everton: Just to let you know we are keen interest in your player, Kubo.
Real: That’s great. We want €30m.
Everton: No, we want him on loan.
Real: No, €30m not a penny less.
Everton: We will come back on 31 August.
Real: …have a good-day bye.
31 August
Kubo’s agent: He’s going to Napoli.
Everton: Oh crap. Need to find Harrison’s number.

I’m not talking about just this coming season. Every year they can spend a couple of £100m more and cherry pick the best players. Squad values worth 10x those of ours

The player hording has then meant Chelsea have brought in over 800m on sales since 2020 amd City close to 600m. Staggering amounts which apart from Chelsea's dice with PSR issues last year (prior to the sale of Women's team) means those clubs have that mostly put n the kitty too to buy again.
