Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

…I just think he’ll end up going where he most wants to go. The power is with players these days, especially those in demand. I expect that lots of what’s being posted on social media is wide of the mark anyway.

Think it depends if the team is willing to wait till city meets their valuation of the player. Or wheather they move on to another target.

But if mcatee desired team is willing to wait. Then you're right they'll get their man

….i expect they’ll quickly reach an agreement with whoever McAtee chooses, City won’t want the window to close without recouping some monies on him.

The clue is in 'if they are not interested part'. According to rumours, these players, Luiz and McAtee are weighing up their options or basically waiting for better offers. In this case then yes...

It was clear from day 1 that both Gyokeres and Mbuemo wanted to join the respective clubs and those clubs will have known this.
I know this isn't going to change your perspective mate, but I simply fail to see how you consider that EFC can use the same negotiating tactics as an Aresnal or a Man United.

If Arsenal come calling for McAtee today, he most likely goes; if we do, he most likely waits to see if Arsenal come in. Unless he out-and-out turns us down on the spot, that shouldn't make him any less attractive to us such that we'd not hold out for him and move on to a less-valued target.

Based on Everton rumours you’d think there are only about 5 players we can sign.

The actual pool of eligible players will be in the hundreds if not more.

We should follow Brighton, Brentford, Bournemouth, Forest, Wolves etc. and widen our net beyond Manchester City’s reserves.

I don't... it wasn't me who compared the situations, I just responded to the post.

The key thing is we have some urgency to bring players in... we cannot be waiting for someone who is not completely convinced by the project or the prospect of joining Everton!

We cannot simply wait round for players to join because we are their last resort and they want game time.

We should have a list, and if we cannot get the top of our list we should be making our way through it actively to bring in the required personnel.

Again, what happens if in 2 weeks time someone comes in for him and he jumps at it.

We have wasted 4/5/6 weeks and are in a desperate situation then. We should know as a club by now what his situation is.

Brentford have sold their best player this window and Wissa is also rumoured to go.

Bournemouth have sold two of their best players this window

Wolves sold their two best players this window

Brighton have sold their best striker this window

Forest are trying to hang onto their best player and have already sold their top winger.

Meanwhile we gave Branthwaite a new contract and haven’t sold any of our top players.

I also can’t remember too many of those teams buying in great replacements for the players they’ve sold or anyone close to the outlay we spent on Barry.
