We’re likely heading into the new season with the same starting 11 as last season. And what this thread is showing is that most of our fans just accept nothing but mediocrity now. Losing and drawing pre-season games heading into a new season doesn’t help with confidence at all. Add the fact we have had months to sort new deals out and we’re leaving it so later again, shows nothing has changed. Moyes would have wanted new faces in the door and getting them up to the pace, and bonding with the squad.

Doubt TFG are half as involved in the day to day running of the club as you seem to assume. They have hired people to do that job. And when they don't deliver, they will be replaced.

TFG might be private, but Fabrizio Romano has been all over Roma news this summer. As much as you'd wonder if he is on their payroll.

I'm well aware of how they work. As for Romano, he has never had a thing correct in regards to EFC so if they are putting their trust in him, big mistake imo. he is the Italian Jim White and nothing but a mouthpiece for various agents.

The lack of signings and squad depth at this stage is a bit of a worry but I'm sure that by the end of the window we will have a competitive squad ( yes I know that we need to hit the ground running for the first game and appreciate how frustrating this is.)

I'm not convinced that our immediate rivals are in any better shape ( although they may have bigger squads).

Wham have lost Kudos but signed a reserve full back.

Who have Fulham signed ?

Brentford have lost their manager , replaced him with a rookie , lost their best player and signed a washed up Jordan Henderson.

Wolves , sold their only decent player.

Brighton - who knows. TBF they sign players you've never heard of and they turn out to be great.

Are United and Spurs our immediate competitors? Ok they were below us last season but recent history suggests that that is an anomaly.

So , yes plenty to do but no need to panic ........yet!

That reminds me of my mates dad who used to coach a Sunday League team. One of his players came up, frustrated and asked why he was only in the second team and my mates dad said because there was no third team
