Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

We paid Alcaraz' clause and left it last minute to do so. Spanish sides have crazy clauses, most think we've still overpaid.

*i dont care if we overpay today as long as they outperform the cost. But this 'good negotiation' you speak of...?

Not seeing that.

Sure i understand. Going from dross to nothing (currently) when we could have had people in Jan, isnt inspiring me.

I take your point though.

He rejecred us mate. Like a bird agreeing to go on a date with you.

Then on the day before she tells you shes going with someone else.

Its rejection buddy.

Agreed.

I think McGinn links were from good sources? Wasnt it Joyce and Percy?

I never said Villa would "hand over their captain" ?

My concern is even making an enquiry.
The whole 'sources' thing is a load of tripe mate, Joyce dropped a list a few weeks ago with a few names on it and certain others (they know who they are) just seem to be feeding off that list like its their own. However there were a few that were not mentioned on it and no mention of how we had bid for the likes of Conceicao or Bakayoko. TFG are notoriously private people and the leaks have been closed/or gone imo, you can choose to believe the journo's/ITK but personally I don't think they know a thing myself.

I hope that we get Europe too. I think we will be there or thereabouts this season.

Just need to get off to a good start and keep our noses in front of the pack which is obviously a lot easier said than done.
I think we will be around 6-9th this season, depends if we stay clear of a major injury to one of about 3 players. That's based on the recruitment I'm confident we will do.

I'm going off more Kinnear has a reputation for it mate from the past.

We've seen what happens when we just pay up what's asked and we end up with Klassen and Gbanim etc. the head of recruitment now is the city bloke who worked with Moyes here before so again a good negotiator - city out the sky clubs honestly tend to not overpay to the same extent by far as the others.

I'm just confident that Moyes will be backed by TFG to a large degree this summer.
Given we are about 10 men short in our squad versus other Premier teams, I see no evidence that he is getting the backing he needs and we will be left scrambling at the 11th hour for cast off loans as usual.

Everton are at least two fullbacks, one midfielder and a right winger away from standing a chance of getting through a PL season without the same relegation anxiety that’s plagued us for the last four seasons.

We’re four weeks out so I’m not too nervous now as I’d rather they got the right players with character and value, to save us from being in the same situation as the last four seasons.

Taking them to US on tour and getting them on boarded would be nice but getting the right signings supersedes that.

Can appreciate fans are anxious to avoid another season of a poor Everton but between the new owners, Moyes and a whole new senior leadership poached from others I’m a lot calmer about it all. Transition season ahead but in the new stadium there needs to be some green shoots most can get behind for better days ahead.

Harrison - 1 goal 1 assist last season in all comps.
Lindstrom - 0 goals 1 assist last season in all comps.

We are missing pretty much nothing.

For comparison with a right sided "Elite" player last season:

Denzel Dumfries 11 goals, 6 assists.

Even Barcelona have to wait to sign someone with these figures, I bet they don't end up with a JJ Kenny last chance at the saloon tho.

We however, never learn lessons from the past.

Have a cut off date and don't mess with TDD dross.

It's a big if unfortunately - but I think Moyes can keep even the rump of the squad from tail spinning like it did under the last few managers which gives me some hope about staying closer to the European places than worrying about relegation. As ever we shall see what we shall see.
