Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

That reads as sky six playing fantasy football, newly promoted making desperation signings, everyone else either constrained by PSR, waiting for a sale, or waiting for deals to move elsewhere.
Yup noticeable that the sky teams have basically not sold anyone really yet either.

City, the rs, villa, Chelsea will all be moving on players this summer, Mcatee, Grealish, Doak, Elliot, Ramsey, crap load from Chelsea no doubt. Likely some more from both city and the rs also.

Under 21s a s the world club thing also means anyone involved is basically still on a beach in flip flops so not exactly rushing to sign with new clubs etc.

Think you'll see the next week or so a lot of moves starting around that pack of teams from 6/7-17th.

If we had go e and brought in 6-7 by now I'd be more worried as can almost guarantee it'd be more a result of panic buying a d we'd have been overpaying for mediocre players

We certainly need to build a squad to help us get through a season but for the first three or four games we could play
Pickford
O Brien
Tarkowski
Branthwaite
Mykolenko
Gueye
Garner
Ndiaye
Beto
McNeil/Alcaraz/Barry/Armstrong.

I think this team would give most teams a good game as they did after Christmas last season.

The season doesn't end on September 1st and this is a season of transition for us.
Far better to get in players that will have a positive impact over a longer time than signings now that will not help improve the team over the next couple of seasons.

I do agree we need a rb, rw, a central midfielder and cover at lb.

Btw, it starts to look quite likely that team goes to US without any additions. So three matches where Moyes will basically give lots of minutes to players who will never be first team players.

Without getting a RB means we see more of Keane. Tim Iroegbunam should be added to that list as well.

It'll be a genuine failure at recruitment level from the new lads if we start the season with Patterson as our starting rb and the ghost of Seamus Coleman as the back up.

You think were going after better players?

How confident are you?

Weve gone from Wesley (January) to rejected by Tete this window.

The McGinn enquiry was leaked. Cant get much worse than that.

Not seeing thesd "elite players for an elite stadium"

What I am seeing is unprecedented. The inability to strengthen the 1st 11.
Better players than the likes of Harrison or Lindstrom? Of course we are. Be hard not to.

My point is that at the moment we are going after better players than the better players. But there will still be a long list of better players available to fall back on and if the time comes that we just have to take a few meh options to pad things out they will STILL be better than the departed players they replace.

Tbf, ideally we'd want those new signings to be a part of pre season or ready to start the new season. Any longer then they won't be ready. They will be missing games at the start which will more than likely cost us potential points
Its the Everton way!

Unfortunately, we are still searching bargain basement, so most incomings might be late in the window. Would have been nice to have a few more in for the USA tour, but its not looking like that will happen.

The thing is the club has had since Lukaku's departure to line up a striker that can push us on, and has had at least 5 years to find a long-term right back. We've barely scored any goals from midfield in the past few years (except for Ndiaye last season and a couple from McNeil), so the club has also known of a desperate need to add a goalscoring winger too.
