Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Moyes + owners who's attention is on Roma.

Did anyone ever really expect all the talk about 'loads in' to materialise?

In your heart of hearts you never did.

Moyes is all about managing expectation for his own ends, so he was always going to accommodate that type of ownership at a distance and the releasing of minimal transfer funds. It's what he does.

I expect 3 in before the window closes. After the season starts. And I dont expect them to be big fee signings either.

I suppose we can't properly judge the business until the window shuts unfortunately that seems to be the way it works for the majority of clubs. So many repeat posts about we need this that and the other well I'm sure the club are working on it so not sure why people keep posting the same drivel on multiple posts. Once the window closes then I guess it's time to criticise or applaud but until then I wish people would get on with there lives and stop repeat posting the same over the top reacting. Would I have liked more in yes of course but I'm intelligent enough to understand the transfer window will always be a slow burner for this club, so many moving parts and facets that don't allow us to purchase every target straight away. Enjoy your summer people and have faith. We all know what needs doing.
I don't agree with the judge at the end of the window point. No good team does the majority of their transfer dealings in the last fortnight of the window. We have three league matches and a cup game during August. The recruitment needs to be judged before week 1.

We haven't won a league game in August in 4 years so we have to stop waiting until 3 or 4 matches have been lost before we strengthen the squad. A good start is extremely important this year if we want to see some meaningful improvements.

I know they didn't just happen overnight , unless it's deadline day they can take months.

Point being I'm sure they would have been run by Gasperini and now finalised.

We have deals rumbling on for weeks too btw.
While I'm sure we will get our signings i must admit I'm a tad concerned at the timing with not much bedding in time for the new players.

Yeh? He's been there since the start of June.

Unfortunately that's how it's always worked, agents hold out till late to get more money so unless the club massively over pays we have to play the long game due to previous idiots running the club. I get the frustration and in the perfect world we should have players in early but it simply doesn't work that way for clubs in our position. Have you seen many other clubs concluding there business other than a select few
