Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

T

Think it's completely dead on all fronts really.....

Only real links were Luiz and Mcatee.... both seem to be waiting on / wanting other offers, and can you blame them?

Then the other one it seems everyone is pinning their hopes on is loose links to Kubo and waiting for him to come back off tour in a weeks time. Expect we haven't even discussed anything with him or are still preparing a bid.

When he turns round and says everton who.... then we are in trouble, as there will be 0 back-up.
and for us when is the moment we go for Fellows, Hackney and Coufal :)

It also should not be that difficult to improve our current squad, because we don't even have a squad at present.

There have to players out there who can play in wide areas and have pace. We need wide players and full backs and I really think our new recruitment team should be able to identify players who would help this team, and wouldn't cost a fortune.

Nothing looks like it's broke overnight in terms of firmer links.

Roma mirth aside it's pretty p£@s poor tbf to not have anymore key players in with the squad about to disappear to America.

Long term it's totally rectifiable but it's the first minor black for me against the new regime.

If I was grading the window against where we should be by now it's only a 6/10 at a push.

Plus marks for Gana, Barry and Branthwaite.

But lack of RW is criminal personally I'd have prioritised it over striker so massive minus points there. Frustrating as if you'd got them in it'd be 9/10 and everything super relaxed.

Those Roma deals have been bubbling on for weeks and weeks though. It's not like they just farted them out in a day.
I know they didn't just happen overnight , unless it's deadline day they can take months.

Point being I'm sure they would have been run by Gasperini and now finalised.

We have deals rumbling on for weeks too btw.
While I'm sure we will get our signings i must admit I'm a tad concerned at the timing with not much bedding in time for the new players.

Should have seen the wide options in the 04/05 squad. Kilbane and Osman.

Moyes finds solutions, it’s what he does. He’s not going to waste funds on players who are not good enough though. We will get some players in, probably won’t be as many as people would like, or as early, but then he’ll craft a team better than the sum of its parts.

This game today is showing what needs to be done more creativity in the middle, more pace on the wings and better full backs. Hopefully this performance moves the recruitment into overdriv

I suppose we can't properly judge the business until the window shuts unfortunately that seems to be the way it works for the majority of clubs. So many repeat posts about we need this that and the other well I'm sure the club are working on it so not sure why people keep posting the same drivel on multiple posts. Once the window closes then I guess it's time to criticise or applaud but until then I wish people would get on with there lives and stop repeat posting the same over the top reacting. Would I have liked more in yes of course but I'm intelligent enough to understand the transfer window will always be a slow burner for this club, so many moving parts and facets that don't allow us to purchase every target straight away. Enjoy your summer people and have faith. We all know what needs doing.

I do suspect whether the problem is our new transfer guru's are really trying to drive deals down and only pay what they perceive as absolutely necessary due to the numbers we need, which is admirable.

However, the issue I think with that is our place in the pecking order if there's other teams that can offer European footy in the mix.

In the end they might just have to pull the trigger and pay that extra £2 million on the fee or extra £20k PW wages to try and beat these competitors. Think In a field with multiple suitors speed is of the essence sometimes show your interest make a big fuss of the player and just cough up the reddies straight away.

Other wise we'll end up going too far down our list for each player and also eating into valuable time.

I wouldn't advocate doing this for every target. But someone like a McAtee or a Kubo just pay a bit more and get it done.

Sorry mate, forest have had one decent season in about 40 years. They are simply not more attractive than we are moving into a new ground

We will have to agree to disagree here, because I think that's the blue-tinted glasses.

Players want to play at the highest level possible (and be paid as much as they can). Forest are in Europe, we finished 13th.

If you're a footballer, I would expect that European football trumps a new, shiny stadium.
