Basically we need to bring on starters in maybe 4 positions, and around 4-5 squad players, depth or competition as well, it's a huge amount of work and for the second group the quality depends almost on the first in a way.

Don't think many would argue we need a starting centre mid, starting right winger, starting attacking mid and starting right back.

On top of those we'd need another centre mid, another right side player, a second left back. And either another full back/centre back who can develop. Can argue a third striker should be required also.

The squad we have is already super small and that's factoring in players who simply aren't good enough - Patterson, and/or who need loans - Chermiti, Tim and Armstrong.

Right now we can't loan any of those three out or offload Patterson as they are literally first backups - which clearly they aren't ready to be at this level yet.

You can absolutely forget about most of the above...three more and maybe two loans and we go with what we have.

Yeah I really have a soft spot for Lindstrom - think the loan mooted around for him from Germany would be worth us matching.

But if we did that now - it's not fixing anything which we need as a priority so would be underwhelming for example.

Seen people go on about Fellows - like if we signed him they'd be happy cos we brought in a right winger, despite there's probably very good reasons he's available for 8m now and nobody else seems that interested. Likely as most don't see him as ready to step up as a starter in this league

Based on...

Just got a blind spot on the player mate honestly.

1m euro loan fee - can provide cover for a few positions, and pre injury was looking a lot better - think for a bargain fee he's been worth having around to see if he could kick on being more settled second season etc.

Far better option than say Harrison who we should be nowhere near.

But honestly it's be as a cheap squad filler not a starter

5 even if all starting quality would definitely leave us short in a good few areas.
