Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Citeh have apparently set the price for McAtee at 35m (Daily Telegraph)

A lot of very good young British players still set to move this summer. Off the top of my head - Mcatee, Hutchison, Elliot, Ramsey, Trafford and Dokes.

Right now the leagues a bit weird - you have the newly promoted teams rushing to get as many in as possible, the teams in the CL mix with the hive budgets being very active - City, Chelsea, Spurs, rs, Arsenal.

But the rest of the league seems to be a loss less busy and mainly just lots of links and then losing players or bringing in players who aren't exactly making me wish we'd been after them.

Given we simply can't compete with those CL on fees and wages and we are hopefully looking at quality above what the promoted teams are splurging on, then I'm not worried at all, yeah when forest, west ham, palace etc start bringing players in who I rate or are ones we are after then we can start worrying, before that though it's more a waiting game whilst negotiations are going on I'm sure.

We can’t be using “the rest of the league” as an excuse as to why we aren’t doing anything, we need to bring in more players than those teams because we have 15 senior players. I’m sick of hearing “no one else is doing anything so it’s fine” as an excuse.

Would hope to see two players in this week and don’t see why that shouldn’t be achievable. Unless we are looking at one position at a time which would be ridiculous. No credible links with a right wing which is slightly concerning. It should be our number one priority followed by full backs. Kubo, Doak or The Road Runner would be fine.

I can categorically tell you we aren’t signing 2 players this week. If we get 1 in I will be gobsmacked beyond belief.

Do wonder if Kinnear and Hammond will be particularly keen to get a few in the door within the next week or so. The current inactivity doesn’t exactly paint them in a good light just a few months into a new role

It's a huge fortnight for Kinnear in particular. He can point to the new structure not being fully in place for this summer but it's his baby and TFG let him implement it.

I'm hoping we can get a couple in by the end of the month, things will look a lot better then and we have to give them the benefit of the doubt currently.

It's just the time now though where people get antsy, and I think that's justified too. If we're going into August with the bulk of our work still to be done then it's fair to say things have gone wrong.

It would not be a good look for Kinnear in particular.

Thinking of the setup of Pursuit Sports last week, I'm sure Dave Beeston is keeping a watching brief from afar on all of this too.

Perhaps the degree of anxiety is just a function of recent history. We have to hope that things are on track for them and that they are confident in what they are doing.
