Does indeed look like the undercooked celebrations and lack of attention to detail at the Goodison send off really did indicate that the new ownership hadn't had time to fully plot and plan ahead. Let's see what happens but it's becoming clear that the scouting lists of targets might suffer from being a little short and underdeveloped.

Main goal of this window now is looking to just secure bodies as cover and avoid any big transfer failures. Just keep us competitive in midtable. We go again next summer once the new team has had time to establish themselves and prepare a list of players that will improve the club.

We are never going to be a top choice for the players we are seemingly targeting. There are probably about eight clubs who are now seen as more attractive than us and a further four to five club who are in our current peer group based on recent PL finishes.

We are like an overweight balding guy, whose best years are behind drunk on the dance floor, still thinking he can pull one of the fittest girls in the club. By all means be ambitious for players, but be practical as well. Timing is essential - don’t leave it until ten to two.
