Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Same can be said for our squad now vs squad Moyes took to top 8 form, but only if you wanted to be balanced

I said Roma dont need much compared to Everton as they had a strong finishing position.

Youre saying Moyes did as well with "our squad".

But the Roma squad is mostly the same. Evertons is not.

So what you posted is untrue.

But that need for players doesn’t mean signing crap like longstaff and Harrison just to hit evertonians arbitrary timeframes on what makes a window a success.

We can field a team tomorrow that Moyes had top 8 on form minus doucoure and Harrison. It’s not bed wetting time just yet

Here you confirm that not only the squad, but the team (2 starters) is different.

So while Roma finished the season in a strong position and dont need 'many' players as they have most of their squad...

...Evertons squad "blah blah top 8 in form" is NOT the same at all.

I literally didn’t and I’m not here to help you with your comprehension 😂

I suggest you re-read.

Moyes could have had the squad 1st in the form table since Jan.

But the squad has been decimated.

Doesnt matter if theyre crap/ace the fact is the squad and team are different.

Any tiredness coming in the US and any injuries in the US could affect the season.

Already were seeing players rotated out for what, 16 year old kids?

I can assure you, those kids wont be playing premier league football anytime soon.

Who are you most concerned about us losing from the players Moyes played last season and who would you like to have seen us replace them with by now?

Everyone having a lovely Sunday?
No.

Some proper over reactions going on in here at the minute..

Yes I would have hoped we had a couple more permanent additions by now but it's not panic stations yet..

If we're still in the same position in two weeks time then I'd start worrying a bit more..

Wouldnt say anyone is panicking?

More so, stating that so far this is underwhelming and very poor.

The entire thread is basically a contest to see who can overreact the most..

Are there prizes on offer?

Just a thought but maybe, just maybe most of the Luiz talk came from his agent? We may have made an inquiry but it never went further because Luiz isn't interested. But his agent tried to use that to drum up interest from elsewhere and that hasn't happened so now this latest twist.

Who cares? Not to nitpick, but really who cares?

The fact is that whatever the situation with one player, we should be going after multiple players, in multiple positions simultaneously.

If we need e.g 5 players, we should be in for 15 and making enquiries for e.g 30.

Weve only heard for CM about Luiz and McGinn enquiries.

Surely there should be movement on someone else.

Or are we doing a Moyes...go for one. Wait...dither...wait...next one...wait...dither...wait...next one.

Its not working.

Why are we expectant of coups when we've been in the position we've been, particularly the mini "relegation threatened" era we've (hopefully) just pulled through?

We might think TFG is good news, it doesn't mean millionaire athletes will or have to.

I dont think anyone expects a signing to be a coup. Not if they are looking at a top starting player coming to Everton above superior teams.

Theres no Speed/Kanchelskis this window.

And maybe a nudge to us that we should maybe be looking at the up and coming. Would Onana be an example, because we signed him when we had a lot less going for us compared to now, new stadium, new owners, a and new recruiting team with a fair bit of money to spend.

This is exactly what we should be doing.

Why would Moyes torpedo this in Jan and then want him now?
