Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

We all want the club to have signed more players. However the plus side to this is that we are in a better position having done what we have , rather than spending money rashly on the wrong players.
I think that there is an element of over anxiety from many posters , which is understandable. The club has undoubtedly let the supporters down throughout a number of transfer windows , and this has bred suspicion and cynicism towards our current ownership.
Let's just be glad that we no longer have to place our trust in Mosh and Chairman Bill.
Hopefully the money is there (and I believe that it is) , but the club are aiming for players that will markedly improve us instantly , but is struggling to persuade them to come here.
We may have to change our targets in order to get the numbers and quality in , but it is still possible to do that , and there are great opportunities still available via the loan market , as clubs who have recently been more successful than us , start to finalise their squads.

The momentary Myko injury yesterday should have really made the whole club go “crap we need another LB” if they weren’t already aware. There isn’t even one in the youth side.

Can you imagine the scenario where we have to rely on O'Brien at right back, Keane at centre half, Patterson left back. That's just an injury or 2 away from reality

I don’t think 1 right winger at the club is sufficient personally.
beggars can't be choosers. Anyone in at the minute is a plus for us. That's why there's so much animosity. Because we have to near enough start over, again, and work through the Kilbane's and VdM's and work up to the Pienaar and Arteta type players. Thing is though now, other clubs are stock piling good players, kept sweet on crazy high wages on long contracts, so the pool to sign some good to better talent has been diminished.

Yes thanks. Sun is out, kids coming over for dinner. Might even have a cheeky afternoon beer
Sounds nice mate. We’ve just been the garden centre and picked up some new bits for the garden. Got some nice looking scones to take out as well (half price, so a bit of a coup really).

Going to pot the plants and enjoy a cup of tea and scones and admire the new plants for an hour.

Just a thought but maybe, just maybe most of the Luiz talk came from his agent? We may have made an inquiry but it never went further because Luiz isn't interested. But his agent tried to use that to drum up interest from elsewhere and that hasn't happened so now this latest twist.

And maybe a nudge to us that we should maybe be looking at the up and coming. Would Onana be an example, because we signed him when we had a lot less going for us compared to now, new stadium, new owners, a and new recruiting team with a fair bit of money to spend.
