Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Despite the fact we know most transfer rumours are rubbish we still get sucked into narratives the assorted junk sites try to peddle. Luiz is a case in point. The only semi reliable comment in the last two weeks from people we know have club connections (whether we approve or not) is Boyland and Bobble both essentially saying:

Some interest but Juve want a sale or loan and obligation, we are only interested in a loan and option at a lower fee. Left it there. No active discussions or pursuit.

Others have tried to make it into an active pursuit, often originating from sources known to do Juve’s bidding, when it appears not to be the case. Now someone spins it as Luiz waiting for a better option when right now we are not an option at all.

As with news, politics/economics, medicine/science/environment etc. it is important to figure out which sources are trustworthy and filter out the rest. It really does reduce personal stress and fume substantially.

But that overweight balding guy has just got himself a brand new, 16 bedroom house with a swimming pool and a lovely looking crest. Got to count for something.
It’s only a stadium. We’re delighted with it, and whilst it is impressive, I would imagine there are probably four to five other factors that players take into account when moving than playing at a stadium once a fortnight.

Lads Everton are absolutely tiny compared to the footballing institution you think they are in your heads. Three decades without a touch of a trophy, four years circling the drain at the bottom of the league, no European footie to offer. Most foreign footballers have only a passive knowledge of Everton in the same way we know little about Espanyol.

Demanding NSNO isn’t a Jedi mind trick that instantly transforms the club into a time portal to April 1984. We got ourselves in this current situation by hasty untamed ego spending, the way we get out of it is good strategy executed methodically. That’s gonna take some patience and dry crotches.

Well Moyes has actually come out and said he wants 6

What do you consider a full squad out of interest?
So he’s half way there less than half way through the window 💪

We absolutely need 3 more to fill key positions. Cover/competition at left back also, so 4. Beyond that they have to be better than what we have at the moment

Actually I had it as Celline Dion , who most famous song was used in “Titanic “ this where Everton take players to seduce them into signing …. Meaning our next signing is currently in the reception of the hotel
Nailed it there Tel, I was barking up the wrong tree.

My worry is that when you've got such a small pool of players, its inevitable we'll pick up a couple of injuries. We always do.

We're not only missing quality which is abundantly obvious, we're seriously missing depth.

I'm sure there is lots of work going on behind the scenes but there's no way of dressing it up and saying 2 pre season games in and about to jet off to the States and we've brought someone in (Alcaraz) where the negotiations must have been pretty straight forward, a back up keeper and a striker who will need to be given time to settle (though I'm sure will instantly jump ahead of Chermiti).

I don't think its ideal at all watching the right back playing left back (2nd half against Accrington) and watching the slug Mcneil getting a lot of minutes right wing when he's pretty crap in his best position, let alone moving him there.

We needed upgrades on Mykolenko, Garner, right back and Mcneil for starters, so they become the squad fillers.

Lots of work to do and a big work load for the current players available.
Absolutely need upgrades on the players you listed. I’d say in order, CM, RM, RB, then LB are the highest priorities. Just not convinced Jim Garner can be anything other than a squad player, whilst McNeil does offer some decent creativity and blammos but isn’t a RM and is so one dimensional.

No, he wanted another 6. Specially said “4-6”, this was after Travers.

Which 4 positions do you think gives us a full squad? Because there is no available maths you can do that would make that a proper full squad that is fit for purpose for a Premier League season.

Not getting worked up over the window isn’t weird. I would guess very few people on here are actually worked up over the window, in terms of it affecting their day to day life. I’d like us to sign loads of good players but I can’t influence it either way and my life will go on regardless of whether it happens or not, I assume pretty much everybody else that you may think is a rabid lunatic because they’ve said they’d like us to have done more business has a very similar outlook. The attitude of some people of ‘I know i’m posting on a football forum transfer thread on a Sunday morning but I’m actually totally not bothered about transfers whatsoever everything is wonderful why can’t you be more like me?’ Is what’s weird.
I’m not panicking or freaking out,I’m just disappointed things aren’t appearing to happen re solid club oriented news about transfers.
If it stays like this much longer with the forthcoming USA trip,my disappointment will exponentially increase and I’ll have to consider raising my intensity.

I think the £27mil + £3mil is (like Barry) an overpayment, theyve gone for potential.

Across Europe there are other 'Diarra' level players though who wouldnt cost that amount.

There are clubs that have to sell. There are also clubs that would sell at the right price.

Moyes has had Thelwell, Purdy and the scouting teams reports since January as well as his new colleagues and i'm sure his own contacts to delve into.

Jan - July = 6months.

All we know as true is that

1: He rejected multiple players in January

2: He rejected a CB who we had a deal with in favour of re-signing Keane

3: We went for Delap and then Barry.

4: We went for Tete.

As far as I'm aware nothing else has been confirmed by anyone ITK.

6months of work? Doesnt seem like it to me.

They will have had access to agents for months to ascertain who is and who isnt available.

We could have been putting in bids anywhere from Jan onwards with deals to go through on July 1st.

Imagine being a player on the way to the USA looking around the plane and thinking WOW he's some player. We're going to be really pushing up the table this season.

But instead, WOW we signed Travers and a player to compete with Beto.

Hardly inspiring.

Well, no it quite clearly cannot.

There you go...its NOT the same 11 nor the same squad.

You've qualified your own error here.

This makes no sense in the slightest.
I am not reading all that just SIGN HARRISON
