That's a good and very valid point Joey. Those who defend Mykolenko will say he's playing with the burden of knowing his family are living in a war torn country, but Patterson's family live in Scotland which is probably more rough than Ukraine.

Compare his to someone like Armstrong, in terms of quality at that level, Paterson is five years older.

I think he’s really really poor , looked slightly better after Moyes arrived last season but without a real uplift in form we need to look at alternatives. However given the state of the squad is it anywhere near the priority of other positions ?

To progress we almost certainly need a new left back but the squad is paper thin

We need another left back as we only have 1. You’d hope they’d want to upgrade. Been a priority for 2/3 years now.

I completely agree and Im honestly not suggesting we don’t but I think the squad we have it feels like it’s fairly low down the list .

Yeah it is - until Mykolenko gets injured or tired at any point of a 38-45+ game season, then we have literally no left back.

Another left back is a priority because we only have one but realistically it’s going to be competition not a replacement. We certainly have bigger fish to fry than buying a new left back who’s a clear step up.

Honestly I totally agree and it’s clear Ashley young now looks a loss which feels crazy to type .

The mismanagement of the club needs to be repaired, a host of players are needed . A covering LB as a short term measure would be acceptable but like you I want a new left back , maybe we have to wait for that .
