Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

same s**t year in year out if they don’t invest in new players we will be in the championship next year where most of our team belong. The recruitment in this football club is atrocious Patterson, kean, mylenko, Gardner, alcaraz, beto, iroegbanam, Chermiti the list goes on how come other teams can bring in cheap players and they thrive yet we just get the bottom of the barrel that can’t even make it in championship.
He's not your lenko, he's our lenko, pal

This sound like an Eminem song, full of anger, frustration and angst towards our great club.

You should send Moyes a letter and sign is Stan.

My point was towards those making posts of the below nature;

... to illustrate the point, I've shared his record at his previous, long term job at West Ham and shared the view that from the top 20 there, there's 2 I'd want to replicate now at Everton.

I mean context is important. first off all, that's 20 signings right there you highlighted. This highlights why some players are maybe not at the level you think they all should be at? When he went in there, he was buying players for a bottom half team, a team that had been in a couple of relegation battles. They weren't spending money on top table players. There were 2 seasons of rapid improvement:

In the 2020–21 season, Moyes guided West Ham to a record Premier League points total of 65, finishing in sixth place and qualifying for the 2021–22 UEFA Europa League. The team won 19 Premier League games, including nine away, both records for the club.

In the 2021–22 season, Moyes guided West Ham to a top-seven finish[93] and a Europa League semi-final

They went a bit backwards in the league after that, but won a trophy

Incidentally, they brought in about £200- £300 million from sales during the same period he spent the 400 million +. Transfermarkt info isn't accurate, and they often report fees as though all add on's have been paid, there's definitely some guesswork on their part.

Most of the players he signed who didn't work out, he still got significant sums for. Kudus has been flogged at a profit, and Bowen, Alvaraz, Paqueta, Areola and a few others could easily still be sold for significant sums. So forgive me for being a bit incredulous when people come out with statements like 'he wasted 300 million'

There's also players he brought in and used that have been treated like spare parts since he left and ended up leaving for nothing. Captain Zouma being transfer listed because he had a year left on his contract for example. He ended up staying and leaving for free.

And why are we not aknowledging the stellar work he did here, when we know without doubt that he actually did have final say on all transfers?
