Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Was electric first half of the u21's final, anonymous second half. Looked great that first though, it all went through him.
Totally agree. He’d be a frustrating player at times but I think we lack that kind of spark in the team. Reminds me of when we had Deulofeu - End product wasn’t always there but defenders were always on their heels because of what he was capable of.

Any medicals for rapid right wingers booked?

I agree it would be a terrible strategy if we didnt move on after a few weeks, but I don’t agree that hanging on for our first choices would be a mistake, provided we did have other options we could turn to if the first choice procrastinated for too long. Its all opinions of course, but I do believe getting the ones who were identified as the best fit / highest quality available to us would require a club with our (sadly) lowered profile to wait around a bit.
Until we get a no from the club or the player the transfers we want are still on. If no comes we then move on. Up to now it all good.

If you're doubting Moyes transfer credentials I think you need to take a breather.
No manager is perfect in the transfer market, every acquisition comes with risk.

Anyway, he lifted the Conference League trophy with all his apparent bad signings.

See, I figured the same based on his Everton record until a West Ham fan come on here and told us he spent half a billion there.

I looked at the likes of Bowen an thought he'd spent well there. Turns out he spent £500m at West Ham and from the top 20 below - there's 2, Bowen/Kudus I'd want.

So let's not act as though he's a messiah and can't be scrutinised.

I get after years of misery, wanting to find optimism more than most this pre-season, but there's too much, almost blinkered Man Utd/INEOS type energy in this forum lately.

Crap players are very getable, we could agree deals for Lindstrom and Harrison this afternoon and have them holding jerseys in BMD on Monday.

Truth is if you want a McAtee or that profile, you are at this very moment competing with Leverkusen and Dortmund for him, the lads going to sit on a choice for a while - while he considers all the pitch's made to him and then makes a decision.

You can repeat the above cycle, multiple times - if you want quality players. The good ones you have to be patient and compete for - they will have multiple options - the bad ones you can have in for Blackburn this afternoon easy, unless one falls for you like Barry.

If we are waiting a while for signings - be thankful, it means we haven't been turned down too much or worked our way so much down our list - that £20 mill for Lindstrom or Harrison or going back to Doucoure with a better contract offer has become viable.

The longer the wait the more likely - better the player we are competing for.
We should be able to offer much better wages for McAtee n co, a better league and much more, sleepwalking at moment.

Just excuses for delays when they’re flying out in days

Only two players on that list you'd have had at Everton at the time West Ham signed them?

I thought it was pretty well documented they had too many chefs at West Ham on the transfer side like when we had Koeman Moshiri Kenwright and Walsh all buying their favourite number ten

I can see Moyes buying zouma, Bowen, Soucek, Ings, Alvarez and taking a punt on Phillips for example which apart for Phillips were decent to great signings but I can’t see Moyes buying scamacca or ward prouse for example
