Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

See we agree on some things Kenwright was better.

Kenwright destroyed this football club in so many ways.

His biggest crime was convincing our fans that we should be happy with existing and being the plucky underdog.

I am not convinced by our new owners, we should all be cautious and avoid the weird stance some have taken on this forum that nothing bad can be said about them.

We can agree that they haven’t ushered in a “new era” but to say they’re worse than Kenwright is ridiculous.

Kubo 0 assists
Fellows 14 assists
Fellows played in an inferior league. And scored about 4 goals in 45 games in the Championship. And he is slow like McNeil.

Whereas Kubo’s stats are fine in LaLiga.

its unimaginative just scouting for powerful direct wingers like bakayoko or industrious ones like fellows.

why cant be we be more progressive like brighton or even coventry where sakamoto is doing well for them.

in fact, the apparent lack of physicality for these asian players usually means they have more guile and tricks up their sleeve to outwit bigger defenders

So your saying our football recruitment staff had players lined up in Jan, and Moyes knocked them on the head? Only aware of Tom Fellows and Wesley as being lined up in Jan before we turned away.

Id take Wesley now, and wouldn't be surprised if we signed Fellows this window.

Personally can't see Moyes paying too much attention to what the new transfer committee folk say.
I'd be happier with fellows and fatawu from Leicester for the price of one mcatee.

If we start missing out on genuine targets due to dithering or haggling over fees then yeah criticism. Right now it seems way more likely we are just waiting for certain players to decide on a major career move. Mcatee, Kubo - sociedad are touring Japan - suicide to sell him before they finish.

Footy manager has a lot to answer for - can't click accept done in a day

You'd imagine at the least that in the case of all three players (Luiz included), they've been given some initial "encouragement" to pursue things further. There seems to be enough noise about each to suggest genuine interest.

That might amount to being manipulated and/or playing us off against a rival too, but if it gets to the stage where a bid goes in, surely both sides would be comfortable with any contract package being offered, apart from some tinkering.
