Non League Football

Looks quite basic? Was at Rugby league so not seen any pre season yet.
Extreme left of the photo is a covered stand, just 3 rows of bench seats on concrete steps and there’s small covered 4/5 step terraces on both sides. The clubhouse is small but probably average for step 6 overall.

Went to my 3rd Pre-season match today, went to Lower Breck Fc vs Connah's Quay Nomads Fc. Unknown to myself and the other 5 Nomads fans (yes 5 :D:D) Nomads had already played a match in the morning so there squad was a mix of a few senior players 3 triallist and youth team players. Lower Breck went 2-0 up in the 1st half thanks to 2 awful errors by the Nomad's trialist goalkeeper. Nomads got an excellent goal back just before half time (Eddie Servuts). In the 2nd half it was a totally different game as Nomads got a foothold and passed the ball around well and scored twice, the winning goal was a cracker from Callum West and the 2nd goal was a header from Centre half Dan Roberts. Final score Lower Breck 2, Connah's Quay Nomads 3. Overall a good workout for both clubs and a pleasant afternoon with the "Scousers" :D;)

Mariners v Morcambe today. Decent enough performance, though we were flagging last 5-10 minutes. Final score 1-1.

I think not having to perform a complete overhaul of the squad, like we did after promotion, is gonna stand us in good stead. Especially considering how we finished the season, though I've got to say the dead ball prowess of Jack Hazelhurst (Burton Albion) is not gonna be something we will easily replace. His deliveries were top class and arguably dragged us to safety.

Finn Sinclair Smith looked outstanding today. Looked a bit lost for a lot of last season, after leaving and then coming back about a month later, but he improved as the season went on and finished with 10 goals (I think.) Today he was a lot like the Finn we saw in the NPL, and caused them no end of problems.
