Transfer Rumour Douglas Luiz

With all respect such comparisons are anachronistic and hopelessly futile.
A person can only thrive within the environment he exists.
While today’s players are undoubtedly more athletic, would they prosper or even survive in earlier times ?
Would they cope with the harder and more brutal ( by today’s standards) tackling ?
Would the sheer physicality of previous times negate their modern day abilities.
How would they fare in the days before substitutions , or even when only one substitute was allowed , when players had to play on carrying injuries that nowadays would warrant immediate withdrawal?
Ball excelled in the game , that is undeniable and to denigrate his standing by comparison to today’s game is not only foolish it’s deliberately disrespectful and devalues the game entirely.
Athletes playing football , somebody once said

The ‘friendly ‘ Derby vanished when Andy King had the temerity to score a winning goal at Goodison and they spat their dummies out and tried to ambush us by hurling house bricks .
( They got legged and took a kicking of course )
It did and there was one of the first
big kick offs with them when we come back into lime st after a game , in London maybe .

I will however say I felt Hughes had a massive impact and I accept opinions differ but I stand by my point . It was horrible and I despised him for that shout .

I belive Tommy Smith pulled him T0 one side, and said its allright you saying that but i live in Liverpool [but maybe not that polite.

I used to serve Tommy in Laddy's in the mid 90s. Used to come in most days and chuck a few ton on the horses. He was actually ok to speak to and pretty down to earth, so can imagine him doing this.

Back on topic can't wait until we can nearly say #Dougieisours. but it's actually Dougie Freedman.

I think Smith had a testimonial against us coming up andknew this would affect attendance after Hughes said what he said.

From the looks of it we are pushing for Luiz, and may even be the front runners, but Juve dont want to let him go for our price. This may run for another couple weeks until one side gives in or someone else finally outbids us.
No inside info obvs but it does seem that way innit - a huge salty transfer slushball that will build and build until it becomes critical sometime towards the end of August when some crap early season results have come in and precipitated a little movemet the enema.

Per Tuttosport*

Juventus are considering a swap deal for Manchester United and Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund, 22, in exchange for their 27-year-old Brazil midfielder Douglas Luiz.

100%. They'd been winning everything for years, but that was the first time they really rubbed our noses in the dirt. All because of that boozed up bell end.

The latest from Italian media is coalescing around a claim that Everton have officially submitted a bid totaling 35 million Euro structured as a loan with an obligation to buy.

Juventus have been pushing hard to replace him with Morten Hjulmand, and I think it'd be funny if that odd report about a swap deal for Hojlund was just a silly misunderstanding by an unqualified writer.
