Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Well sadly you’ll have to worry about them when they do happen. If anyone at the football club has this mentality, then I will be deeply, deeply worried.
Of course we will get injuries, but we are a month from the start of the season, and then a further 3 weeks until the window shuts.

I’m just not worrying about non existent injuries causing players to miss the first game of the season. Yeah it may happen, but that’s also not a reason to pay over the top prices to get someone in a month before that even happens rather than negotiating prices down.

Do you really not think we have a full squad by the end of the window?

Alcaraz dragged on and we paid the clause anyway. Barry is a rotation and Travers is a backup player.

We haven't signed a single player to strengthen the first 11.

I think that is very poor indeed.
We must sign one starting RM and a starting CM the very least before going to the US. They need time to settle.

This idea that we bring in top quality on deadline day is nonsense though. Broja, Dele.. loads and loads of examples of these being the worst and most desperate signings we make.
I think your missing my point mate.

Lets say Kubo for instance, we may have some sort of agreement that he will come but not until his club find a replacement, do we wait?

Lets say Kubo is 1st choice and Gnonto is 2nd for arguments sake and we know we can get both.

Would you wait for Kubo in 4 weeks time or get Gnonto now?

What has been the success of signings in the last week of the transfer been like for us....

Mangala loan last year, not really. Broja definitely not.

Beto OK coming good....

Garner, not really.

Gana back, yes.
Maupay haha

Van de Beek loan (January)

Rondon haha

Josh King - who exactly

Maybe the year we brought in Allan, James and Doucoure.
Thing is though there are over 6 weeks left in this window. Not 1 .

Right now, if I’m totally honest, no I don’t. We certainly aren’t properly prepared to start the season, yet again.

I think if people are completely honest with themselves too, they would’ve at the very least expected us to have padded the squad out a little bit with the odd free transfer. We still only have 1 full back at the club fit for purpose, that’s just not acceptable really.

We have gone for the wait approach so many times in past and been burned and end up signing our 4th choice on deadline day in a flat panic

Jokes aside,
I think they fly out early next week so I would assume that’s unlikely.

I think the narrative for the US tour will quickly change to “we’re giving the youth players a chance to impress”.
Our youth who sit in the u21s until theyre 25 and then leave to play for Solihull Moors.

This is absolute wisdom. May many in here take note.
