Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

As it stands we’re playing a pretty dangerous game of “let’s hope we get no injuries and our starting XI can be flogged for 100 minutes every week without tiring”. A player like Gana will need to have his minutes managed much more this season if we want to protect and get the best out of him.

As it stands we have a starting XI that looks fine on paper that is obviously capable of playing Premier League games. However we’re going to struggle around the hour mark when our opponents are bringing on 3 sets of fresh legs and we look to our bench to see Tim Iroegbunam and Patterson.
That’s a slightly different matter though. If we bring in squad players later in the window, they will have already been doing pre seasons for the current clubs so if they cant come in and immediately manage 20/30 mins of a game, then something’s really wrong with them.

We are still a month away from the first game. My point is that we have a team that can compete. We need a starting RW asap. But everyone else, even if they are going to be considered starters in time, it’s not the end of the world if they aren’t signed for 3 weeks.

Im not going to worry about injuries that haven’t happened.

Well you’d like to think so, but at some point we’re going to have to start actually doing it. Last week we were being told “there’s 5 weeks to go, stop bed wetting”. Well now there’s 4 weeks to go. 2 of those we’re in America and definitely won’t be doing any business (you’re delusional if you think we will). So basically when you deep it, we’ve got 2 weeks to bring in players before we start the season. Given that it seems to take us 2 weeks to wrap up a single transfer I’ve yet to be convince by anyone that we’ll have any new signings in the starting XI at Leeds.
We all want to sign players . Id imagine we are in talks for lots of them . Personally id rather sign better ones in 3/4 weeks time then sign poorer ones now just for the sake of signing them . A lot of transfers depend on what other teams do as well.

Well sadly you’ll have to worry about them when they do happen. If anyone at the football club has this mentality, then I will be deeply, deeply worried.

Exactly this..... Although the easy one seems to be Harrison, so maybe he may be back starting for Everton come the Leeds game.

Although I would never class this as a signing.

Why would signing players now mean they are poorer players? Where’s this theory come from?

All the talk of an unprecedented rebuild and it’s looking increasingly likely that we’ll start the season without a single new player in the team for the opening game.

Surely absolutely everyone would be disappointed with that, no matter how much they are pretending otherwise.

I think we have to assume any rebuild will take place over a number of years.

We’ve managed to clear out a lot of players this summer but it will be impossible to fully replenish the squad immediately with the financial restrictions we face.

This coming season is all about avoiding relegation whilst we get used to the new stadium with a small squad.

Nah, sorry not buying into that. If we are in the bottom 5 come Christmas then the manager should be sacked.

Despite the rumors Roma hasnt signed anyone , and they just replace their DOF , so I assume like us signings will start to appear soon. They didn't spend big money to bring in the Atalanta manager not to back him, so I still expect substantial signings here as well. Maybe I'll look dumb in the end but my boxers don't smell like urine , which I don't know how many of you can say that?

Would you rather us get the player at the top of our list on Deadline day or the 2nd or 3rd choice option now?

Sorry, again, why would we be getting the player at the top of our list on deadline day? No serious clubs acquire their priority targets on deadline day, even we have never done that. Our deadline day signings are bums like Broja and Dele Alli.

In fact the closer it gets to the deadline the likelihood of us settling for a 3rd or 4th choice desperation panic buy only increases.
