Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven


Afternoon all ,early starts to work, I drive past an area where a kestrel lives and usually about 2 to 3 times a week he perches on a lamp-post by his nest. He was there this AM, and on the next lamp-post with his back to the bird was a pigeon oblivious to the danger.i was just thinking "oh fella, if you only knew ". Kestrel must have eaten already.

It's certainly capable IF it was desperate, but Kestrels rarely prey on pigeons.

How fabulous to see regularly.
 


Morning all, another hot day forecast for today. I’m usually a poor sleeper and the last few weeks have been worse in this hot weather. Thunderstorms forecast for tonight so it looks like another restless night.
We are off to a funeral later. Our neighbour’s daughter, she was only diagnosed a month ago and passed away two weeks later so it’s a bit of a shock. The only blessing, if indeed it is one, Blanche’s dementia means she is unaware that her daughter is gone.

We have skied near both and I always wanted to visit in the summer but my knees wouldn't let me . Enjoy and photos please. A belated good wishes to @Armaghtoffee for a deserved break he must need it having to go to all those bars and travel to all the games and drink all those drinks .

How sad 💙
 
Afternoon all. Big day today Mr P can drive. In theory. In reality we’ve been sat on the M6 northbound for nearly 3 hours (only 5 miles from home) with no sign of it opening soon. We have one bottle of water and a strip of paracetamol to keep us going. Not quite the nice day out we had planned but not as bad as the poor guy injured in the accident so blessings are being counted.
