Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Tbf it is getting a bit irritating now that the window appears to be closing getting another significant signing in before the USA.

Obviously we could ultimately get them in by 1st September so it's not a complete disaster.

However, for the ability to bond and work on tactics etc not having a senior right winger in the squad would be a missed opportunity

Also optically and from a PR perspective considering that's an element of any US tour it's not a great look, makes us look a bit tin pot.

Yes the transfer team have come in late but personally I don't think it's an excuse.
Tin pot!😂😂😂😂

Mentioned him before. Get him.

I'm just not sure he's that good. He's good, and as long as he's fit he could be an excellent signing for us, but it feels like people are elevating him to a level that he's never really been at. He didn't make the grade at City and Juve (who are a massive club but not one of the biggest in recent terms) haven't been convinced either. He's spent a few years at Villa and a couple of them they were in the bottom half. He only has 18 Brazil caps. Like I say, he's a very good PL player, but people seem to keep talking about him as if he's some sort of incredible global megastar and he just isn't really.

If he's the same player at Villa then it will be another who is class on the transition.

Ideal for the type of play we should be using.

Not the big name (as you say) but someone who we all would open our eyes a little bit wider and recognise he'd be our best central midfielder.

There is no window to get players in before the USA tour, just a complete fabrication to get upset about not signing players on a made up timeline.

Lindstrom doing the rounds again on X. Going to be hilare when our wide options are the same as last season

Keane, Harrison now Lindstrom….

I think what my fellow toffs are referring to as a marquis signing is a player that was previously of reach and elevates Everton’s new status in obtaining them.

Like Robinho in early days Man City, for example. That type of global level.
Rodriguez was already aging when he joined, but he's on that level too and helped us to dream again. I remember xmas that year to be so exciting being in the top 4

Post of the year

Why Everton Must Act Now in the Transfer Market

The stars are aligning—and not in a way that suggests standing still. As of today, July 17, 2025, the cosmic forecast brings urgency and momentum that Everton would do well to mirror in their recruitment strategy.

Mercury Retrograde in Leo
Traditionally associated with breakdowns in communication and stalled progress, Mercury retrograde is a warning sign. For Everton, this means dithering in negotiations or delaying targets could see deals collapse or misfires in recruitment. The club can’t afford crossed wires—decisive action is needed now, before the retrograde energy drags plans backwards.

Venus in Gemini

This brings a flurry of talk and speculation—perfect conditions for rumours, agent games, and media noise. But it also means the market is alive with conversations. Everton must be in the mix, actively engaging with targets, and not watching from the sidelines.

Uranus Approaching Gemini

With Uranus—the planet of upheaval and innovation—set to enter Gemini soon, a shift is coming. The clubs that embrace bold moves and strategic risk will benefit most. Everton must show ambition now if they want to ride the wave of change rather than be crushed by it.

In short: If Everton want to avoid chaos, cut through the noise, and position themselves ahead of the curve, they need to act now—not after Mercury drags deals into disarray or other clubs beat them to the punch.

Appearance’s can be deceptive.

…if I was you, I’d be more concerned if Gemini was approaching Uranus

It will be nonsense
Lindstrom was/is a class player. Sure he drifts out of games when he doesn't get the ball but I personally see him as streets ahead of Harrison. Lindstrom offers a potential upside under Moyes, and would bring less chaos thana completely new signing. Would be good for another loan - whereas Harrison offers nothing as he proved in the second half of last season.
