I never would have had him down as a €178k/week player and he would certainly have to take a pay cut if he were to join us, unless it were to be a loan with Juventus covering some of his wages.

They’re all a bit speculative, but if he’s on over £140k / week, even that puts a different slant on a potential deal to buy him at the reported £40m’ish.
That would be quite the financial commitment.

I don't think that he has justified his wages at Juventus and I don't even think think he was worth that much when he was performing well at Aston Villa. Taking him on loan would be the best option for all parties, as much as I would like a permanent solution to our midfield dilemma.
