Cycling thread

What i like about Pogacar is that he loves to race whether its TDF or giro or monument races he is always looking to win. Jonas V is a great rider and I can't understand why he dosent race in the monuments and his cautious race tactics don't make for excitement he is the best cyclist in the mountains and iam sure he will attack. My fav cyclist is mathieu VP him and Pogi make the monuments very exciting
Does that make him popular with other teams?

This season he's targeted the classics and monument races and taken a lot of the shrine of riders and teams who target those races. He's shown how adaptable he is, but at what cost to his overall standing in the peloton?

Shrine?

You know who I'm angry at? Maradona, he kept turning up every week off his bonce and showing up all those other serie a sides. Then he'd do similar at international level. How very dare he. I don't want to see the best apply their trade for as long as they can master it, I want elite sports persons locked away, only spoken of in hushed tones and quiet acknowledgements.

In that river through Paris. Certain!

I dont think there's any doubt he'll try and do that. That'd be a classic move from him to try. He's pretty thin skinned IMO.

I have my doubts he can show Vingegaar a clean pair of heels in the mountains though; recent evidence suggest he cant put distance between himself and Jonas.

Apart from the last time they raced in high mountains...

Like.. last month?

In the Dauphine you can see what Vingegaar was doing: experimenting. He allowed the gap to appear and then kept Pogacar at that distance and even reeled him in a bit.

This years TdF mountains the attacks from Pogacar have been shut down straight away by JV. No gapping.

We'll see what both men have left in the Pyrenees and Alps shortly. Then we'll see what's what.

Sorry, did you watch a different Dauphine? When did he reel him in? Pogacar destroyed him on the big stages.

If you mean the stage when Pog eased off and sandbagged over the line... well...

There hasn't been any mountain attacks at this tour yet?

Other than the Dauphine, the last race they rode together?

Was that what was happening was it? Ok.

We're all expecting sparks to be flying in the next 30 minutes or so.

I just wonder if tomorrow's TT might delay a big attack today until the last Pyrenees stage on Saturday.

we're about to see a major series of attacks, unless there will be caution because of the tt tomorrow.

such and such looked really worried and couldn't shake such and such. big trouble brewing.

they're having a day off unless someone looks complacent and gets pounced on.

tune in next week for more batman escapades.

I am not to sure he thinks to much about being popular with other team's but as all cyclist including MVP they just focus on winning and is there a cost to cycling the giro and monuments have been excellent this year and the TDF is shaping up nicely.
