I think what my fellow toffs are referring to as a marquis signing is a player that was previously of reach and elevates Everton’s new status in obtaining them.

Like Robinho in early days Man City, for example. That type of global level.

Does anyone seriously expect us to sign that type of player? Douglas Luiz would be the best player we have signed since Lukaku in terms of profile, age etc.

Calm down mate. No, I don't read the entire forum before responding to a post. I'm not shocked that you're no shocked that he's not being linked to Real Madrid. Most people take it as red that we are not in competition with those clubs for players so it doesn't really need to be said. But keep saying it if it makes you happy.
