Here's my inexpert hunch about Samuel Lino after learning who was a few minutes ago: there are no serious links, and he wants out. Connections are being made based on his desire to leave and Everton's well-publicized need for a right winger. But I don't believe we've expressed any interest for two big reasons:
1. He's actually a left winger and has only played on the right a handful of times when he was younger. He plays up and down the left, and has lined up as a left back more recently than as a right winter.
2. He's nowhere near the level of quality of wingers they've been linked with by more reputable reports, and while he's fast, lacks the next level pace of targeted players.
So you have a guy who doesn't actually play the position Everton need being framed in foreign media as considering a move in that position to Everton, and it morphs into Everton looking at him by the time it hits the aggregators and rumor mills over here. This is absolute nonsense. But there are enough articles being written about Everton looking for a right winger, so if you're his agent, and you get stories written about Everton looking at him, that's brand recognition, and maybe someone else bites.
