He’s a fool if he doesn’t.I've heard that the new recruitment fella just uses ChatGPT to work out which players to sign.

I came very close to typing “I think his dad had pink house in Huyton’ , then for several reasons thought better of it !Think he had a hairdressers in town as well.
I understand the thinking, element of safe thinking and you know what you get. Barry is a wildcard for now so I can understand why Moyes would want a familiar reliable player to have available to him. It just reeks mid table that's allLook I agree and I think we all want that kind of signing but I also understand that if I’m a manager whose just spent a few quid on a young striker new to the league and potentially buying another couple that getting an experienced prem player you personally know for a reasonable price might be very tempting.
Have we signed them? if not save your diatribe for when it happens which may be never occur. Or whatever go nuts and get worked up for no reasonIf we sign those two old men from west ham we may as well raise the white flag. Coufal and soucek, meanwhile clubs below us buying kudos and Gibbs white.
Elite players for an elite stadium Moyes said
I think it’s one of those decisions that’s either well reasoned and logical or safety first depending on how things turn out .I understand the thinking, element of safe thinking and you know what you get. He’s nearly as old as Gueye.Sky suggesting Sunderland are targeting Xhaka - I’d absolutely have him if available.
Bring a blue home
In so many ways, welcome Tomáš
Thought I had seen that Soucek was stopping at West Ham this season.
Don’t spoil their bedwettingSoucek did an interview and its on the WHU website that he is staying
I don't think people mean he is too old in the purest sense. For example, if we already had Soucek I suspect people would be fine renewing his contract. I think they mean that a large transfer fee, a signing fee and big wages as a total package is a bigger commitment on a player that you know will almost certainly be pure expenditure with nothing ever coming back, than if you signed a younger player on the same deal because if it didn't go to plan on the younger player you could probably recoup some of the outlay. But that's a TL: DR situation so they just say "too old".Dont get this "too old" malarkey about 30 year old players. We need a balance, of course we dont want half our team being the far side of 30 but I would adopt a "If you are good enough you are young enough" approach for a few players as long as they are not on long contracts and are reasonably priced.
Its not all about the future, we want to compete now! Based on who made Europe last season and the winners of FA and league cups those should be our targets. To do this we need players for the here and now as well as the future. Top 10 is not a target for me, that should be where we finish if we miss our target.
Not saying I would be unhappy finishing top 10 but I would be unhappy if I heard Moyes saying that is our goal at the start of the season.
