2024/25 Youssef Chermiti

One of those slap forehead signings Everton make with forwards especially: "one for the future" etc.

It's the reason I cant get too excited by Barry's arrival. He'll be another "one for the future" too.

We need to go out and buy an accomplished top quality slotter. We've required that for years and we still dont have it.
Issue there is, that there are very few about, that would even think about joining our nonsense.

Id let him dig it out in the. Championship to be honest mate.

It’s English football he has to acclimatise to IMO.
Agree. It will either make or break his future at the club. Armstrong went to Derby a bit lightweight with talent and laid a marker down. It's up to Chermiti to do the same. He has the raw tools and talent to succeed but it's up to him if he has the mind and graft for it.

Barry will be going straight into the first team though at least and has over 100 pro games under his belt. It's not quite like Chermiti or even Kean who had a handful of appearances before coming here. Theoretically if Barry fails here it will be down to ability rather than lack of experience or opportunity.

I mean he’s been injured for over a year, not sure what the club were supposed to do about that unless you think they’ve knobbled their (allegedly) €15m asset
I reckon that's what they did. The only explanation for the number of injuries our players have had in recent years has to be that the club is running some complicated insurance scam by buying players and knobbling them. It can't possibly be crap training, unfit players, or rubbish tactics causing injuries, it's got to be a scam. Got to be. Someone's probably already had a go at Barry with a tyre iron but the club are keeping it quiet. The rotten gets.

I think Chermiti would benefit from a good loan move.

It was the first game for him as well as everyone else and he had played very little last season.
I thought his diving header was excellent play and only for a great save the narrative would be different about him this morning imo.

Always thought he's looked pretty decent in the rare glimpses we've had.

Moyes didn't have him in match day squads last season even though he was fit and we had limited numbers.

With that in mind, figuring he isn't at all rated - ideally we'd loan him out.

If we could get a wide player that could also cover striker (the way Richy used to) we could probably let Chermiti go on loan as long as it was structured that we could recall him in the event we had too many injuries to Beto and Barry.
