Castore - get rid?

There was a season in the dark old days of the 90`s when the home shirt was n`t available until the season was nearly started.

Wasn’t there a year we changed sponsors as well after the kit release and we all shirts with the wrong sponsor. Was around the time of NEC, Danka, One2One.

Another weird one was we wore the next seasons shirt in the 95 cup final as opposed to the one we wore all that season.

I think the year I was thinking there was a problem getting a shirt sponsor which was what delayed the release of the kit. In `95 they sold versions with no sponsor and with Danka.

I've always said I'd buy a good shirt if it came without that sponsor, preferably with no sponsor. Im delighted they listened and offered that - but by God, even though I love this shirt, I can't condone spending THAT on a tee shirt.

Aye think your right mate! We wore a different shirt the whole 94/95 season - then wore a new one in the 95 final for the first time. That shirt was NEC sponsored.

The following season 95/96 (when we signed Andrew) we wore the same shirt but DANKA were sponsors.

There was a short period where wearing the new kit at the end of the season was a thing for some reason. I think it stopped because everyone went from changing every 2 years to every year so it became a bit much to not even do a full season in the same kit. The sponsorship thing was that we changed sponsor from Danka to one2one one year into the two year kit cycle, so we sold a load of away shirts which had Danka pre-printed on the fabric but covered it with a patch saying one2one. They evidently just gave it a cursory glance and thought it looked fine to roll out, but when people turned the shirts inside out you could still see the Danka branding.
