2024/25 Jack Harrison

I'd rather get a traffic cone and put a shirt on that. It will get the same number of goals and assists. It might even occasionally get in someone's way.

We`ve already signed them up

Think it will happen mate if we get a key target at right midfield hel be the competition/depth/experience I think.

Think the younger signing - like a Doak, the more I think it’s likely.
Moyes will bring him in for the backs to the wall defensive masterclass away from home when he covers the full back. Not an exciting signing but we need a squad and he is cheap.

I reckon Leeds will be needing £8.7m in transfer fee to off load him to another club if that club were only willing to pay him £60k per week.
His original fee amortisation should be around £4m left on their books (£10m over 5 years, but the new contract in 2023 extends and lowers the amortisation)
Assuming a 3 year contract @ £60k/w was on the table (3 years for ease of calculation as that’s what he has left), they would also need £4,680,000 to weigh him out on the difference in earnings between £90k/ 3 years and £60k/ 3 years.

Obviously everyone will have an opinion on if he’s even worth £60k per week but the lower the rate the higher the fee Leeds would need to avoid a loss on him.
Equally they might be content to take a bit of a loss just get him off the books, or he might take a hit (unlikely as he has a contact), or someone might be mad enough to match his contract.

I imagine these are the sort of negotiations that go on while I’m laying in my urine soaked bedsheets wondering why we haven’t signed anyone.

Moyes rates him. He lacks confidence near goal. But he covers back on defence. He’ll be good late in matches. Good pace and work rate. Of course we can do better but one transfer window can’t solve all the issues. So for now, it’s an alright move.
