I'm sure there was something the other day that was suggesting they can't pay up his contract as it will put them into the danger zone.

We will see shortly if Leeds will use him as part of their squad this year. I think they might, he has been playing regularly in the Premiership in recent seasons unlike most of their players .
The manager doesn't have any history with him and he is already a Leeds player.

The only issue may be getting the fans to accept him again.

However, if Leeds exclude him then certainly at the end of the window you could see him back at Everton in a cut price deal.

Yes if they pay him out, it's 100% in this season's numbers plus any remaining amortization. Chances he leaves on a permanent are pretty remote I think.

Im sure they could if they wanted to, they could demand a buying club pay X amount up front to weight him out whatever short fall there is in the buying clubs contract offer.
