Can you point to me suggesting we need to be signing a striker at even half of the value?

A decent, young-ish striker from the Championship would be a big upgrade on Chermiti, for example, and wouldn't cost anywhere near that.

Liverpool have about 6 forward players (I'll count these as players easily capable of getting close to double figures in terms of goals per season), as do all of the top 5-6 clubs.

If I were to put my neck on the line and say who I think might get into double figures next season in the current squad, assuming Barry and Beto play a similar number of games, I'd go for the pair of them and that's it. If we get a load of penalties, Ndiaye too.

Last season we finished above Spurs who horribly underperformed, yet they had three players score 9+ in the league, we had one, with only two players scoring more than five goals.

We clearly need an additional striker in the squad you'd feel comfortable about coming in when needed and scoring a few goals—does Chermiti do that for you?

Are you saying we need 3 strikers to score double digit while each of them plays 13 league games a season? That’s hallucinating. Even with an injury prone DCL last season, we hardly need a 3rd striker never mind a 4th one. Fantasy football at it’s best.

We sign Barry assuming he will score quite a bit of goals and now you want us to sign another young striker assuming that Barry can’t score enough goals and all these while ignoring the fact that both full backs and right midfield have zero backups or not even good enough.

I haven’t even go into PSR constrain.

The Roma links are obvious and often lazy however, I’d be amazed if Everton and Roma aren’t working together in some capacity, even just to gauge player costs etc

I almost think the opposite (about the first bit) to be honest, he's just taken for granted as being part of the squad now in most people's lists. I agree on his potential though.

Pipe is quite reliable when it comes to Colombian players.

Love to have him but it won't be true. Whilst I'm sure there isn't the level of coordination between us and Roma that the press are suggesting (buying targets for them and then loaning them the player), I am sure we are not going to actively bid against each other for a key target.

Usually it goes in order of team size, and as the mega clubs finish their business players have to go to other destinations.

Also, teams hold out for bids and when they don’t materialise them the buying and selling begins to take a clearer shape.

Exactly, it's like assuming that just because you get on the dance floor early doors before the other lads you will pull all the fitties.

That's not my narrative at all. If the window shuts and nothing else happens, I will voice my concern and criticism. I just can't get angry on the 15th July that we've only signed 3 players.

Tbh I’m only expecting 1 or 2 more signings for money. Then maybe 1 or 2 loans on TDD.
