Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Seen a few links to Jacob Ramsey from Villa for £30m. He is referred to as and "attacking midfielder" but really plays off the left. I hope if we are in for him we are not planning to move him to the right wing

And when it is closed the narrative is that we can’t do nothing about it now so just get behind the team.

You are not stupid at all, you know this. It’s the same behaviour year after year.

That's not my narrative at all. If the window shuts and nothing else happens, I will voice my concern and criticism. I just can't get angry on the 15th July that we've only signed 3 players.

Well personally I don't really fret like the rest of you seem to do. I address a transfer window once it's closed not when we go play a few meaningless friendlies.
Meaningless friendlies 😂😂😂😂 yes that’s how dyche saw pre season and look how that worked out every season. Under cooked from the start. If we don’t get 2 or 3 starters in till late in the window 3 or 4 games in, they probably don’t get in till you’re 1/4 through the season. Funny how most of the best teams buy their players early. I wonder why

No it’s not your narrative personally , it’s how a lot act and you know it as well as I do.

ever observe where this concern or worry comes from? How many times we flattered to deceive in the past. It leads to cynical thinking and pessimism, a fear of “here we go again ffs”.

There are hundreds of thousands of people in this fan base, given what has happened over the years, some folk being pessimistic or concern of being underwhelmed isn’t exactly beyond the point of realism.

I remember when Hodgson managed them lot, you would think the club was ending the way some of them went on!

Be realistic, like someone mention we play 1 out of 3. If you insist on signing a proven striker of world class standard it will cost 60 to 80m to satisfy your FM lust while we have 60m worth of striker sitting on the bench week in week out.

Please tell me it makes sense.
Can you point to me suggesting we need to be signing a striker at even half of the value?

A decent, young-ish striker from the Championship would be a big upgrade on Chermiti, for example, and wouldn't cost anywhere near that.

Liverpool have about 6 forward players (I'll count these as players easily capable of getting close to double figures in terms of goals per season), as do all of the top 5-6 clubs.

If I were to put my neck on the line and say who I think might get into double figures next season in the current squad, assuming Barry and Beto play a similar number of games, I'd go for the pair of them and that's it. If we get a load of penalties, Ndiaye too.

Last season we finished above Spurs who horribly underperformed, yet they had three players score 9+ in the league, we had one, with only two players scoring more than five goals.

We clearly need an additional striker in the squad you'd feel comfortable about coming in when needed and scoring a few goals—does Chermiti do that for you?

Probs because they have a much simpler task signing players. More money, more appeal, that kinda obvious stuff :)
